A Slow Return To Normal

Post by Ilikewater »

Long story short: I have been going through a break up of a 7 year relationship, and am only now settling into my new place and getting back to the recording/writing grind. Haven't been as active on ILF of late as I would like, and I figured I would crawl back with a question.

How would YOU wire this up?
Image
+/- pedals, what kinda board(s) would you work with? I've been having a lot of fun with the pog2 in the fx loop of the timeline. Always run the thundaa up front with the NASA sandwiched in between some dirt. What? gets a workout constantly, but I'd like to hear some ideas from the brethren.

Also, this is my new living room!

Image

The entire house is rocking hard wood floors. I have a room dedicated to housing all my guitars and cases. Shit is tight. 3 bedrooms, and each one is utilized differently for books or music. Fuck it, Homes. Thug life.

Based on how many amps you have
Tuner-Triple Threat
Board 1:Dirt
Board 2: Mod
Board 3: Delay/Verb
Or something like that anyways.
That's a pretty awesome looking room there man.

I was going to give you a few chain ideas, but I don't know what the hell most of those pedals are.

Haha, me too! I'll say JazzChan > Sitar Swami > Timeline > SM/BS. That should make some good noise.

Congrats on the awesome living room! :!!!:

Okay, then!

Polytune -> Pog2 (God, I want one of those so badly) -> Glitch Computer -> Robotalk 2 -> LAL 88 -> Tripple Threat -> Sitar -> MG Bukowski Filter-> Jazz Chan -> Baby Thundaa -> Timeline -> Some overdrive, set to just barely non-transparent

Try that, I suppose. I've been told that I use weird chains, in the past, so maybe it'll yield some sounds you might not have toyed with otherwise.

you fucker! you have a What? and the teal Attache!!!

one nice aspect of my otherwise dreadful breakup with my partner of 13 years last September is that i redid my living room in instruments and amps. now i no longer have "it takes too long to set up" as an excuse for not practising keyboards or pedal steel.

i would just go all in and get a big board and put everything i really liked on. i might lose the Dano effects if they're noisy. my favorite new thing is putting triggered filters after tremolo and delay so each pulse re-triggers the filter, and putting the modulation at the end of the chain after the reverb. i'd probably put the Chan close to or at the beginning, after any boxes that have to see a guitar-level impedance to operate properly...it's always nice to be able to push a little boost from the front of the chain.

Just take your dick out, and use it as a divining rod to let the spirits guide you to the right pedal configuration.

our brains are pretty inline. I have a soft spot for the dano fab because that distortion (not my original, but same pedal) was my first pedal. Got me through all my first bands. So I break it out when I feel nostalgic.

and YES! I love the what? and I'm constantly playing that Attache. DFA.

the nice thing about the stuff you have there is you have the option of having a filter before and after the pulse.

the thing i wonder is if some of the multi-switch-option fuzzes that do the square-wavey self-oscillating thing might be redundant...i'm not familiar enough with them to speak to them, but it seems like the LAL88, Unpleasant Surprise, TAFM, and Biloma have a certain amount of overlap. of course, i'm not one to talk here, since i just worked to squeeze my 3-knob Great Wall on the board next to my Algal Bloom which you could argue was a bit of coals to Newcastle and now have all my fuzzes on the board other than the Fatman which i have to send to Texas to have looked at because it's noisy.

no reverb? and no trem/modulation?

Congrats on the awesome living room! :!!!:

Thanks!

I'll be giving these chains a tryout tonight/tomorrow. I love hearing the sound bounce around in here.

The nice thing about the Biloma is that nothing comes close to overlapping it. Never heard anything like it, but if anything in my chains do, you're right to assume it is the Unpleasant Surprise.

The TAFM is a much more traditional sounding fuzz, imo, and the LAL is just fucking so interactive with those switches. easy to get lost in it. I love fuzz. :!!!:

Do you have a sofa with the string green stripe patterns?

Where is your sofa with string green stripe patterns?

Also where is you 60 inch Flat Screen TV?

This is a very underwhelming thread.
