Looks more like a cable retainer so your adapter plug doesn't get pulled out when you get some crazy foot motion going.

^true... I still think it's kind of strange... I mean.. how does it stay in place? Does it weight like 50 kilograms or does it "stick" to the floor.. and pedalboard mounting is still an issue IMO... I would be afraid to accidentally kick that thing and destroy all my patchcables...
But on the original topic- I think the SuperEgo might just be another pedal to the lines of the HOG, POG and Microsynth.... curious about the fx loop, tho... We shall see...

Looking at the SuperEgo again, I'm beginning to think it is something similar to the Glissando mode on the HOG, but more like the 'glide' feature on the Pigtronix Mothership. The 'speed/layer' knob seems like in auto, it controls the speed of the glissando and in latch mode, I'm not sure... layer the amount of freezes you can have on top of each other?
I'm guessing with dry and effect mix, you can use it as a pad behind your original playing or up front etc, with an effects loop to further meddle with the glissando'd effect.

All just guesswork pulled out my arse, but seems like it could be a rather funky little effect if the list price is correct rather than Mad Ape's.

A little birdie mentioned that the toggle is 3 way and the centre 'eye' position is manual control and the foot switch is momentary.

So I killed it for spreading rumors!

Hopefully it's true though... Freeze + Gliss x (One Small Enclosure)/(Effective Controls) = Scruffie Giz

Damn, for a minute I thought that the superego would be like The FOG (Freeze Octave Generator) that I suggested on the EHX forums a year or so ago.

I'm desperate to use my freeze to create a bass note that I can play guitar through, almost like a moog taurus. I planned on getting an fx loop put in the freeze by axiom drift then buying a micropog, microsynth, PS5, or similar to dedicate to it. I'm playing fuzzbass/guitar in a two man band now and I need this nonexistent thing more than ever. The superego has the fx loop which is cool, but I'd still have to buy an octave pedal. Disappointed that the (still very cool) pedal doesn't fulfill the specific expectations that I alone have placed on this thing that I heard about a week ago.

If anyone wants to make the FOG for me in a single box, pm me.

But I don't know about the crying tone, what a gimmick. It still is just a wah, but more of hassle to keep rooted.
