Top 5...

Post by nuclearfamily »

So the other day I was watching the movie High Fidelity again. I love all of his top five lists... I think you know where this is going. :p
I'll start with one from the movie:

Top five side one, track one:
1. Television - See No Evil
2. Buddy Holly - I'm Gonna Love You too
3. Wire - Practice Makes Perfect
4. Suicide - Ghost Rider
5. Joni Mitchell - All I Want

Now one of my own (probably a little too similar but whatever)
Top five album closers:
1. Sonic Youth - Trilogy
2. Tom Waits - I Can't Wait To Get Off Work
3. My Bloody Valentine - Soon
4. The Doors - The End
5. Nick Drake - From Morning
Clockwork Towns: Like grandma's homemade chicken soup, lovingly made with just a hint of sulphuric acid.

Great movie! Good idea..

Top five favourite opening songs on albums.. These are not all necessarily my favourite songs, bands or albums (though some of them are), I just think they're really great songs to open albums with; Making statements about the tone and pace of the album.

Seal, "Violet" (Seal [1991])
The Beatles, "A Day In The Life" (Sgt. Peppers')
the Stone Roses, "Fools Gold" (bonus track on the US CD of The Stone Roses) (OK, it's cheating, but still!)
