I usually don't like Les Pauls, but I can make an exception for that.

So, a few months back some fucking asshole stole my Maton after a show I played. Wasn't even my band, just a friend who asked me to sit in for a couple nights with 'em. It ruled beyond losing a cherished guitar to some cracked out moron. The guitar was recovered (that same night because we chased his ass down!!!) but not before it sustained some extreme damage. Now for the good part of that shit story....

My homeowners insurance covered that sonofabitch, no questions asked! I just received the replacement a couple days back and I actually made a bit of $$ out of the deal. Lucky for me, this new one feels slightly better than my original and setup was a breeze. Removed those "ladies" strings in that pic and got it all fixed up how I like it.

I also prefer the grain and burst on this one as they all vary depending on the wood chosen for the top and back. Nice when something this super positive comes from something so terribly negative. :thumb:

Wow Shannon... that's a beauty.

How does she handle fuzz (for an hollobody)?

Thanx sylnau! She handles as much fuzz as you can give her! It's a Josh Homme sig so that may help explain it ;). Chose his model because I honestly favored the satin finish, trapeze tailpiece, and simple neck cosmetics without the block inlays and binding. Plus, it's a bit cheaper than the other models which I couldn't believe so the choice was easy.

The guitar is nice and heavy/solid and the HBs are pretty high output. Together with the semi-hollow design, it's capable of bringing the THUNDER without feed back ever getting away on me like my old 335 did. It rules, the semi-hollow to end all semi-hollows imo.

It's coil tapped as well, another aspect where the high output comes in handy, because the singles sound bitchin', not all thin and wimpy like most coil tapped HBs I've tried. An extremely versatile beast!

I wish these would be available here in Canada.
I would sell my PRS any time for one of these.

They're not easy to find here either, only 3 dealers now that Sutton Strings was dropped. I bought my first one sight unseen and it worked out very well. The dealer had a return policy if things didn't work out but that wasn't a concern after I got it in my hands to play.

The build quality is light years ahead of Gibson in terms of consistency. I've owned a few Matons, played a few more, and I've yet to see one that wasn't pure awesomeness! If you ever get the chance to play one, jump at it!

Haha, I chased him down with a friend and he tried climbing a fence on a concrete embankment. Yanked that mofo down, bad part was he panicked and threw my guitar over the fence. He stole it right from the stage after the show MINUS hardcase of course, ran right out the front door with it! I basically stood there frozen in horror and watched it land on the cement, tumbling end over end down the embankment, literally exploding in front of my eyes!

My buddy roughed the guy up a fair bit, I added a little to it but I was in a daze almost, like a very, very bad dream......Everything happened so fast except the guitar explosion. No shit, felt like I was seeing it in slow motion, helpless on the other side of that fence!

All good now, wasn't sure I'd ever be able to replace that guitar. :thumb:
