I did for a long time. ILF user mauerkraut does, too. What kind of questions do you have?

EDIT: The e2 that is.

Ive had both and say both are good units in their own way. The E2 has a stronger, better enclosure. The E1's is sorta thin metal. The E2 kinda sorta oscillates with the feedback all the way up. E1 doesn't. I think the E2 has a longer delay time, something like 2 or 3 more seconds on the normal delay setting. If I remember correctly, the E1 and E2's looper were a bit different. I liked the E1's better.

Id say if you can fine an E1 for 100 or under, jump on it. Though, Id probably wait it out and get another E2 if I had the chance.

Is the tape echo decent?

you get that multihead type of rhythmic echo and its got a filter that darkens up the tone a lot. what are you looking for sound wise? dark lo-fi warble type of sound?

the el cap does that pretty nice.

Have an E2, no E1 experience. I like the tape echo setting a whole lot. It doesn't perfectly simulate my RE-201, but enough essential vibe is there in the repeats and when pushed to self oscillation. It doesn't do fun tricks with the speed knob in the same way the real Space Echo does, which may be a letdown. Also, not designed to modulate/warble if you need that.

Really don't care about the modulation. Just a good sounding echo. The El Cap is just to expensive at $299.

I've got the E2 and also the Catalinbread Montavillian. If you just want echo, I prefer the Monty, but the E2 does a nice, MUCH cleaner delay as well as having a fantastic looper. Granted, the Headrush DESTROYS board space as well.

Just depends on exactly what you want.

I quite liked the tape function on my e2. Very nice, lush sounding. Some cool tweakability, too.

Might have a sweet deal for a deluxe memory man (xo version). Thoughts?

Haha. The pedal I used the akai right next to was a memory man. I still have my memory man, if that helps you make a decision. But, if im honest, my akai was mostly for looping. I think the memory man is a better delay, no doubt.

I really wish I still had my E2. That thing was pretty awesome for quick simple loops and a fantastic sounding delay to boot.

Cool. Think I'm going to pull the trigger on memory man.

Truth. I usually play through a ZT Lunchbox, and putting together just a few of my fave pedals (Headrush, Magicstomp, Liquid Blues) and the tiny amp looks tinier, like some 9v powered toy amp.

I have an e2, great pedal as has been mentioned. it has an out for all four of the "heads"in tape mode. I've never used all four but I imagine it would be sweet running each one out to different effects/amps. And if you plug a cable into one but don't connect it to anything it gets taken out the mix signal. Great for sound on sound stuff.
