am I the only one who agrees and thinks "mayonaise" is a lame song?
Haha, being part of some Pumpkins forums I was surprised how many fans love the song Mayonaise. I never really got it, other than the cheap guitar feedback hook. I mean when Geek USA and Soma (which are around the same length) are right before it and use their time way more effectively, it's kind of a boring song. Not to mention the other giant's Hummer and Silverfuck. Mayonaise never grabbed me, and I often forget its on the album. When I put in Siamese Dream, I want to hear the aforementioned songs. But I feel like everything after Geek USA starts to wind down, which is good as an album but makes the individual songs seem rather weak.

/geekery.
Hmm. That's my favourite song on the record. I remember, of course, when "Today" came out, and it blew my mind, and then "Rocket" came out, and it blew my mind even more (I missed "Cherub Rock" before I got the record). Then I got the record, and a "Mayonaise" blew my mind the most. But I was always one for slow jams. The intro is friggin' killer, the feedback is SO cool, and the big long phaser solo is swirlingly epic. Plus like it was a special song for me because a lot of my friends would get "Siamese Dream" and "Nevermind" and "Purple" and really only be into the hits, whereas I would jam the whole record with headphones all night and creme my jeans. I love "Hummer", too, and those two were my favourite songs on the record. I'm going to go listen to it RIGHT NOW as I take a sweet-ass dump.

"Disarm" I skip almost every time.

I'll agree with ya, here. Mayonnaise, Soma and Hummer are definitely my 3 favorites on the album. They're all slower, but still really fuzzy and thick, and also have my favorite lyrics on the album. They're much more gaze-y than the rest of the album. I've never been as big on his more METULZ songs (like Geek USA, for example)
She did a spot on Billy, aside from the little one word endings of each verse, those are hard to do (if you're trying to replicate his voice).
I personally think Mayonnaise is a great song and don't really agree that the record winds down( it does get significantly less metal after silverfuck, but as far as song quality I don't think it winds down). I love Silverfuck and Spaceboy (a lot of s' in that album). Rocket is my fav.
There's a snake in my boots. Someone poisoned the waterhole!
Mayonaise has that dense wall of smoothed out fuzz that most associate with Siamese Dream, but it's not as frantic as many of the others... it's got a laid back groove/in the pocket sorta feel, a lot of space to let you soak up the fuzz/distortion/feedback.
It gets a little repetitive/sing song but it's still a great track.
