I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Because, you know, WITTR is a black metal band, so you gotta burn a church. Duh?

Video of WITTR & review here (Which I didn't know existed, actually. Rad.):

Actually, played a show at the crustiest, sketchiest house I've ever seen, in Kansas City, to like six people. One of those people bought a shirt and a CD, and since we were touring in a Ford Focus hatchback (yeah, four person band, everybody had amps), that one $15 purchase gave us enough money to get to our next stop. And, this was last summer.
Holy shit on the Ford Focus tourmobile dude! True dedication.
voerking wrote:house shows can be great, sweaty, beer fueled nights of insanity, but they can also be depressing when they are lame. i remember being on tour & playing a house show in Maryland, where we played in someone's laundry room to about 7 people. harsh. the good ones really stand out in my memory, though.
Grand Ulena? If so, saw you guys way back at the Empty Bottle (I think...). Super awesome band, can't imagine watching you dudes rock the fuck out in a laundry room haha!

yep. and thanks.
we did a tour with the band Ten Grand & it was all booked via their DIY hardcore connections, so we ended up playing all sorts of weird places - a storage shed with no heat in February, a church basement, several houses, an art gallery, a VFW hall, a college cafeteria, and a few honest to goodness rock clubs.

Sounds like an adventure! Playing in a band currently?
Also, terribly sad to hear the news about your drummer last year, my condolences. I didn't know Danny personally but watching/listening to him play made for a mind blowing experience.

oh, it was...yeah, i'm in a couple bands - i'm the new guitarist in a pretty rad local band (i'm not sure how secret they want to keep it right now, since i haven't played live with them yet, and they still have an album coming out with the previous guitarist), and i have a bass/guitar duo (with occasional guests) with my old GU bandmate Darin.
Danny's death was & is awful. still seems unreal.

Re: House shows - please explain me.
We had one last summer; it was pretty sweet.
For like $5, everyone got food and beer (good beer, from a keg).
Both bands got to play as long as they wanted.
We took requests for a couple old songs and even played with a former member who was there.
We didn't have to haul any gear at the end of the night. Or even drive.
Yeah...
We need to do this shit again.
