When you think about it, Knuckles really isn't very good at his job. He's supposed to protect the emerald, yet it seems like the handful of times somebody tries to take it, he fails and it gets destroyed and scattered everywhere. Sure he finds the pieces, but it really shouldn't get destroyed in the first place.

Not to mention Sonic Adventure was the greatest game ever and Sonic Adventure 2 was more or less a let-down.
