my best friend bought me a book of picasso's drawings and bronzes.
also a cool tiny wicker container thing to keep my weed in and a bunch of scented oils.

plus a little money from family. i bought a dress with horses on it. and a bunch of cool books, including one titled 'thoughts of the young radicals and four critical comments on their views of america"

I am now firmly in the "I'm a dad and feeling poorer by the year" period of my life, so I've got a "I don't buy you anything and you don't buy me anything" agreement with everyone in my life other than my kid, my nephew and a couple friend's kids. So I got pretty much nothing this year, but I probably saved myself a fortune in the process.

I got a Zoom H2N so I can record band jams and shows and such. Totally stoked:

Also got an air impact wrench and full set of SAE and metric sockets (realized I needed this when changing my brake pads in the fall), a kickass rolling cooler for tailgating, a book on the history of Stax Records, some flannel shirts...and I bought myself Saints Row the Third for PS3 because it was only $40. And it's awesome.

Still got some kind of present to come from the ladyfriend....

I've been solidly in this camp for years and I don't have any children of my own.

I did get my 8 year old nephew a used half size Rogue Telecaster copy that was in need of some TLC along with my old practice amp. More out of curiosity to see if he'd take interest in it and if he does; I'll pick him up a better guitar; probably one of those Squire 3/4 size Strats, as he outgrows the Tele.

I got more enjoyment out of cleaning and setting up that abused guitar then I did from any of the gifts I received or things that I bought for myself this holiday season.

I'll Probably build him a few pedals as well.
