im just gonna say that blues has easily been THE MOST "Uncle Tom"'d genre of music ever and it boils down to either a hamfisted emulation or a patronizing endearment to "teh reel blooz" as opposed to taking the spirit and the style of it and using it to your own ends.

and i'm talking about blues/blues rock and not anything based on 1-4-5 and shit. Rockabilly isn't hamfisted or patronizing simply because it hasn't changed a damn thing about itself in 50 years, which makes it a museum act.
