I used it to make my bass sound like a synth?
You got to me before my edit haha.
I found a demo on youtube of synth -> synth mangler and it was just ok.

You're gonna love that Bedroom Board, Uni! I want another one.
And regarding synths and fuzzes and the SM in particular : I've been swapping fuzzes in an out on my synth board almost every week for months!!! It's driving me crazy! Most of the stuff I've tried either sucks the lows out of the synth or just doesn't fuzz quite as well as it does with guitar. I think it's maybe an input gain / impedance thing maybe? I'm playing a Sequential Circuits Pro One and I've tried it with a few different Fuzzhuggers (Algal Bloom actually sounded pretty good), some Basic Audios (Spooky Tooth sounded great but took out too much low end), etc. etc.
I did try out a Devi Cherry Pop the other night, and it definitely had a few sweet spots, but it wasn't really controllable enough to use I didn't think.
I have had really good luck with a TAFM though. The clean blend makes it really usable, but it still lacks the massive woofy kinda fuzz blanket action that I get from it with my guitar. My bandmate has had some good luck with a Jerms '78 RAT clone and his synth, so RAT's might be an option too.

I think a fuzz with EQ or synth -> fuzz -> eq is probably the way to go.
I like the way my Fuck sounds cranked, but I really only use it in that one spot so I'm thinking about other stuff.
A Black Forest in particular.
