Re: the happiness, excitement, and general contentedness thr
My headphones crapped out on me the other day, but I'm actually kind of happy about it. I'd had them for about five years and they weren't very good to begin with, they were falling apart and had become really uncomfortable. So I used this as a rationale to splurge on my first good cans, I now have a set of Audio Technica ATH-M50 on there way to me!

Love my ATH-M50s. Been using them for listening to music & quiet practice on bass/guitar, and they're a huge improvement over your typical $10 headphones for both applications. They've also survived about 3 years of daily abuse now, often in a backpack and such, so they're pretty durable, too. They can get a little uncomfortable after a few hours, though.

Love my ATH-PRO5's for the same reason, had 'em for five years now.
Same complaint about the long-hours discomfort, though.

that, along with their nice flat sound, is why i love the Sony 7506/V6...they're as comfy as an old pair of trainers.

I had a test today. I didn't study at all and considered staying home and retaking later. I sit down and recieve the questions.Start laughing out loud because the five questions are seriously on the only five things I learned in the entire course.

I took a midterm yesterday. I was so proud to remember that the 3rd Amendment hasn't been incorporated to states so the Governor of New Jersey(as it was in the hypothetical example) can order people to quarter troops in their homes without violating the constitution.

that reminds me of the course on Ethnology of the North American Indians i took at CCSF back in the 80s...i was interested in the subject but the teacher was really boring so i couldn't pay attention for shit and wound up ready to tank the final until i got to the essay question where one of the options was to summarize the Ghost Dance religion, which i'd been reading about since i was 12 and could have explained in my sleep. my C- exam immediately turned into the A- i needed to pull a decent grade in the course

You know, I'm really good with History classes (it's my major), but politics stuff like that always seems to mess with me.
In other news, I have had 2 practices with the new band, and we have 4 or 5 songs written, one of them a 10 minute droning/epic thing. Sections with lots of distortion and walls of sound! I feel like I need a phaser for something in here, though.

Just had midterm 2 of 2 in two days. This one I hardly studied for. Turned out to be much easier than I thought it would, I think.

Re: the happiness, excitement, and general contentedness thr
Just got home after an extremely challenging but rewarding band practice. The keyboard player, who is also a production nerd, had edited half an hour of jamming into something that could be considered a song and now we spent hours trying to learn all the little changes and twitches we made while jamming. That includes three different variations of one guitar riff, starting at different spots in the rhythm because I forgot the initial riff during the jam. And the other guys insisted on it having to be exactly like the song the keyboard player had chopped together. It is a badass song and definitely worth learning though, even though I objected at first. But the three other guys had already spent hours last week to learn their parts, so I gave in and now I am happy we do it like that.
The recording is horrible, and we were all dead tired, so there are lots of mistakes, especially on my part, but I was wondering what you guys think.
