At least you know it is your last show the worst is when you play a crappy show and then it turns into your last show.

This, a million times over. Or when you just play a regular show and realize a few weeks later that it was your last show. That happened with my last two bands, and it's so frustrating.

Agreed, I have the same story. My last 2 bands didn't realize we were playing our last show at the time. I don't know what I'd think if I was aware of a show being the last one for a band......maybe better to burn out than fade away.

Hate that so much. Can't even remember the last show the last band I was in that split up did because it was just a normal show and then a few weeks later things just fizzled out.

I haven't really been in a "band" since I was in my early 20's. But one final show I played was a fucking trainwreck. It was loud as fuck and about the last 30 minutes of the last set was me coaxing feedback out of my amp( which already had sliced-up speakers) and my drummer busting holes in his heads doing insane fills. The bassist,the ugliest of the 3 of us,was just ready to go be coddled by his 1st ever girlfriend. He walked off. Come to think,he was probably the reason we split. Fuck that guy.

Every last show with a band that I've had is our last show because it goes so poorly that we just get pissed and up and quit.

UPDATE: So, our last show now can't come soon enough. Morale in the band is at an all time low. The lead singer is already working on his next project, involving a rapper, him playing piano, and some guy playing guitar. The phrase "sucks harder than a shop-vac" could not be better defined.

We have a show saturday, a show in november, and then the last one.

I'm dreading my bands last show. It's coming, slowly but surely. We started this band in middle school, and in the not so distant future we'll all be going off to college. I doubt I would have ever had any sort of motivation to play music if not for this band, so I'll be pretty bummed out when we're forced to quit. I'll go right on to the next band, but there nothing quite like your first, especially one that has gone on this long.

that's the reason why we've broken up... we have a chance to get together next year, but i expect it won't happen for many reasons

Last shows for most of the bands I've been have seemed to just be that,...we play a show and fade away without playing another one,....no big deal.

Mecha Shiva may be a little different,...but we've been at it for over a year and don't hate each other and have garnered a small following,...so I think if we decided to move on,...a last show would be necessary.
