you know what's worse? showing up on the wrong night. a few years ago i drove from Santa Cruz to San Francisco to see Supergrass at the Great American Music Hall. the huge trailer and amount of equipment outside seemed out of place, as did the dolled-up show-biz girls; i quickly discovered i'd come a day early, and they were filming a Robert Cray show that night. it kind of sucked that i was going to have to do another 120-mile round trip the next night, which made two work nights in a row, but at least i didn't do it the night after.

I drove 150 miles to see Karate.
If I would have arrived 24 hours earlier, I would have actually seen them.

ok one thing i wanna know is who the FUCK is robert cray? there are so many guitar dudes from the 80's and the guitar-slinger circuits of the 90's that almost no one gives a fuck about.
