Probably not, why can't they just reissue the VB-2?

I bet it is in the works, DD7 MSRP is 280 but they sell for around 190 so it's hard to tell what sticker price will be.

I still prefer to get feedback the old fashioned way

the 2 seconds of feedback in the demo make me think that it sounds rather shit in real life.

Well than maybe you should one up them...

:D

For me, since I only use a semi-hollow bass, plain old feedback is stupid easy. I'd really like a way to control the pitch and tone of it while keeping my hands off the neck, though.

That is one of the worst demo videos I've ever seen.

Did You notice how BOSS says it themself
BOSS' latest technology and decades of know how.

I used to want a DF-2. But... I guess EHX Freeze or anything even loosely similar would still better serve me WITHOUT the Boss buffer. D.o.s is right though - nothing fedbacks like a mofo semi-hollow with sensitive bass pups :D

I didn't even think of the freeze as being a pitch controllable (based on what you input) version of this that actually works better, but that is pretty cool.

I guess I can already get similar sounds with the hold function on my timebender

That demo was...the worst demo I've ever seen. I just felt really embarassed the whole way through, like "who would even buy the pedal because of this shit?".

Actually if you listen back in the demo, this is a different technology than the Old DF2. the DF2 WAS oscillator based which is why it sounded like balls when you tried to do chords it get all glitchy with the tracking. This is more of a volume/EQ pedal. what that feedback circuit appears to be doing is pumping up volume until the input gain hits a certain threshold then it's momentarily backing off like an expander of sorts. and the EQ section is specially notched around the area where that high shriek feedback happens so those frequencies don't get boosted.

The shitty feedback sound is because they're running that thing into a stock Blues driver and a Jazz Chorus. I imagine using it with some real pedals could have awesome potential.

I'm in.
