man the fuck up, dude. forums have mods who are at liberty to edit stuff if you're a dumbass. thats how it works on EVERY forum. so just deal with it, and maybe actually post substantial things so you won't get butthurt for your stuff being edited because its really REALLY stupid.
the option are nut up or shut up, and i guess we know what you chose.
I thought the "curly fry" bit lightened the mood in that dreary fucking thread...
SR makes me laugh. Regardless of his "gear-related" contributions, his value lies in calling people out when its completely necessary (usually) and bringing the lulz, offensive-style.
I'll miss his unique brand of "humor/trolling". Darks days for the ILF General forum, for realz!

meh, caps-lock/nonsequitor isn't all that unique. shit, go over to deviantArt and thats half of the regular posters.

Very true.

I'm sure you're right. My "forum life" is limited to ILF and HCFX so the mundane may seem "new and fresh". I did get the random chuckle from his posts though...
This has happened on every forum I've been a part of for the last like 15 years or so.
People create some sort of "forum identity" that they spend a lot of time keeping up and embracing... some people "love" it, like it's the foundation of the forum, and some people "hate" it, because it just gets in the way. Either/or, it feeds the identity, then the identity becomes a parody of itself, then it gets "out of control", then it makes a big show of "leaving" because of such and such. Sorry for all the quotations, but I guess that just highlights the fact that none of it is all that important or even real.
This is a great forum... I've learned a lot about gear in which I was perplexed/fascinated, made some good trades, and even made some actual real friends whom I've met and rocked with.
Blah. Whatever. Here are some points:
1. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... 2. It's much cooler to just leave instead of doing a "I'm leaving because wah" post. 3. Everyone comes back.
CBA brought up a good point too. if you're gonna leave, just leave. don't make some bullshit IM LEAVING YOU GUYS, BOY ARE YOU GONNA MISS ME. IM GONNA COME BACK IF I GET ENOUGH FELLATIO FROM THIS THREAD thread.
and coming from a person who had a love/hate forum identity, the best way to do it is to be aware when its kinda getting old, and scale back. be aware of how much mileage you can get out of something, and frankly for posters like space, that milage is zero to none unless you're a retarded baby giraffe.
edit: also a point to all the guys dissing, myself included, it always happens after the person leave that you get all the "well i didn't like when he started acting like that in the first place"
I can't remember how many posts or mine on other forums have gotten deleted, edited or gotten a thread locked... so um... give me a break.. really wah wha wah... fuck this is silly The only reason I leave a forum is because I find the majority of peeps irritating and/or boring.
I love the guy. He truly amuses the fuck out of me. But personal feelings aside, that kind of derailing didn't belong in the gear forum. Space brought up the point of our underused "Ignore" feature. He could have used it himself. On Gearmond,Devi, dubkitty,or anyone else he flamed on. And flaming should really be handled via PM,if you absolutely just HAVE to flame. We have a "spite, rage" thread, and I also have a "Punch you in the face" Thread. We also have Mods who are more than willing to address issues you have with a certain post/poster.
I'm not so naive as to think that there won't be the ocassional blowup or squabble, but when it gets to that point, take it to PM's. It's not any concern to the original poster that so-and-so called you a fuckface. Yeah, when Spacey flamed on Roseweave, that was some pimpin' shit that probably needed to be on display. And maybe he had all he could take from Devi, but what did Gunner Recall have to do with that? Nothing. It was HIS thread, after all. And from "Fuck Devi" to Arby's? This is ILF,for all its faults, for all its finer points. You can stay and be apart of something that once united us all,or you can go,feeling slighted. Because the fact is,Jamie's gone. He may or may not be back. And I honestly hope he does come back, with a greater respect for other people's threads.
