My friend was in between a tele and a lp studio with p90s when he realize that p90s just...kinda...don't...clean up.
Maybe it's because he uses a jcm900, but still. Telecaster won that battle.

The Eastwood Sidejacks aren't bad. If you get one, make sure you get one with a good neck and try and find one with a bigsby. The "Jazzmaster" trem is pretty crappy.

the Eastwood Saturn sounds quite nice on their YouTube demo. i've never seen one in a shop, though.
there's an entire generation of jazz guitarists who'd be surprised to hear that P90s don't clean up. it's a question of what the amp's doing. clean amp + P90s = clean; moderately dirty amp + P90s with the volume knob rolled off = reasonably clean (see Pete Townshend when he plays the quiet stuff on Live at Leeds); big loud amp + P90s = loud fuzzy shit (see Steve Marriot in Humble Pie). it's also a question of how the P90s are constructed...a lot of P90s nowadays are way overwound e.g. the pickups in Epiphone Wildkats are something like 11kohms.

I like Telecasters, but for shoegaze i think one really wants a vibrato, and the only vibratos you typically see on Teles are the Bigsbys with the additional tension bar/roller. i don't like these, because the added tension takes away the loose, warbly feel that i like in a vibrato and that i think is so necessary for the wobbly, watery feel of shoegaze. whether you need a vibrato/trem is arguable, of course; the trem is central to the MBV sound, while Slowdive hardly uses it at all, and you can get some of the pitch-distorting with extreme modulation settings.

Re: Jazzmaster vs P90's and Bigsby (Shoegaze/Alt.)
It's rare to see, but some folks will mount a Jazzy trem tailpiece on a Tele. Without having gotten the calipers out, it looks like it might be closer to the bridge than on a traditional Jag or Jazzy, more like the CP placement. If you plan to do this yourself, it's likely that the neck could need to be shimmed to accommodate.
On P-90's, Lollars made their name on theirs, largely because they were vintage wound or less so that they would clean up. In vintage form they're a bit midrangey, so what do people think overwinding is going to do?

What about loaded a JM pickguard with P90's into the guitar? Would it work with the trem?

There was one on eBay a few days ago, and there's an SGV-300 on there right now.
I saw an SBV-500 but it was too expensive and I no longer have a job, though I desperately wanted another one
I might have to hoard them.

Why not get a Squire Classic Vibe Custom, lash a Bigsby and Vibramate on there, throw in a P90 in the neck and rock out like this fella....

well, alright, that bottom one is kinda bleh
I've played both models in a store and liked both quite a bit though I need a chunkier neck than Eastwood tends to put on their guitars. I think these could fit the bill for what you are asking about and you can always change the pickups out. The Eastwood stuff always seems to offer pretty decent bang for the buck.

How about doing a Warmoth Parts guitar and setting it up with exactly what you want?
