good news, the cd4049 hex inverting buffer should work just like a 40106 hex inverting schmitt trigger. check the pinout. two pins on the 4049 are no connection. its also 16DIP vs 14DIP. beavis audio has a 6 voice oscillator that uses 100kB pots.

Silicon Fuzz
Q1 MPSA18
Q2 2N3904
Q3 2N3906
sounds
, so
the output is very high and the 'fuzz' knob behaves in an unexspected & cool manner.
Instead of just increasing the buzz it's almost like it covers three different tonal ranges as well, pretty evenly spaced, too.
Doubling guitar tracks with this on one side and pigeonFX's germanium FF on the other should be great!

After the success with the stone grey box I did another one but I sanded down the enclosure prior to powdercoating and it made for an awesome flame type finish. That picture is pretty off as far as the look in person but I wanted to show the "grain"
