My covers band is the exact opposite: the drummer and I (bass) practice a shitload, the guitarist and the singer never put a fucking second of work in other than our once-a-week rehearsal. It makes it quite the pain in the ass when we're trying to pick up new songs.

He got kicked out of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE who are a bunch of fucking pricks, because he BEATS HIS WOMEN.
Now he beats another woman and people are like "Oh, my gosh, that guy needs to relax."
No, he doesnt need to relax, he needs to get to a fucking in patient rehab, or stay in jail because he beats women and has standoffs with police.
And, no he shouldn't have a fucking gun, because he has a history of violence. Nobody needs a fucking gun. We can get our food in the store. I don't get it. I play bass, and I practice a lot. I sit down and practice for hours at a time. But every other bassist I have played with does not practice at all. Not on their own, and not with the band. That's why I think in my next band I'm going to play bass and get someone else to play guitar. That way all I need to worry about is the drummer.

That's why I'm considering picking up bass. Seriously, I have gone through 3 (kinda 4) bassists in my band, and every time it ends with them not showing up to practice for a month, then complaining about how we changed up songs. We didn't change up songs, you just never learned em. That's why I like playing two piece. That way me and my drummer can be all and then find time for ladies like

I don't hate bassists, I think its because I'm still young-ish, and so are they. Most bassists I run into say that they play bass because it only has 4 strings and is easier than a guitar. I find playing GOOD bass a hell of a lot harder than playing good guitar. When you have that kind of shitty attitude that "my instrument is super easy so I don't need to practice", you are gonna suck. Nuff said

Most guitarists just think they can play bass. It isn't just a 4 string guitar though. It takes practice and effort to learn just like anything else.
