My friend's grandparents are taking a vacation so now we have a jam space for a while.

i was driving somewhere the other day listening to Eno's Before and After Science and it struck me that "By This River" would work perfectly for my looping setup/project. having finally gotten the setup sorted to my satisfaction, i worked on the song this weekend and came up with a lovely arrangement that sounds like electric piano and pedal steel when i run the guitar through the pedalboard. it's really nice to loop something where i do a number of layers and then just sit back and listen to it cycle around. i love love love the Ghost Echo reverb i got last week...it makes everything sound so fucking beautiful. once i get my computer/recording thing back together i'm going to start recording random loop jams...some of the improvised ambient shit that appears once is really interesting.

Flaming Lips, Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World
I'll solve this. All three are awful.
Harmony returns to this thread.
I'll expect you in the spite/hate/rage.
I actually think the Flaming Lips are kinda ok. Blink-182 less so. And Jimmy Eat World much less so.

Trying out for a stoner-ish/psych group weds.
Also jamming with a drummer looking expand his horizons (supposedly been playing for 13 years).
This after turning down a band of whom I really didn't feel fit me well musicially. They're on a label, touring in august, merch on the way and just dropped an EP--I just couldn't get passed with feeling a little empty on the inside.
Wish me luck!

Yeah buddy! Keep that soul of yours and shine on you crazy diamond.
Band I'm auditioning for next week is apparently looking for someone to play "groovey rock/dance rhythms" and make "sonic soundscapes" with "tasteful use of delay." In other words, they're looking for me. Woot yeah!
Also, do people still say "Woot"?
