Also, the thing about CF is that he'll also build you whatever you ask him to, so there's that as well. It's unfortunate that what once was a useful tool for so many people is now a giant piece of shit, but his myspace is still up, man, and it still tells you all that you need to know.

i have looked at it, or rather, tried to look at it. if it would load in a decent amount of time it would be useful. however, like everything on MySpace nowadays, it doesn't. objectively, that alone makes it a poor presentation. whether he's "always used it" is irrelevant. i'm sorry that you seem be personally insulted by simple factual statements. e.g. Creepy Fingers products are marketed in an amateurish fashion. if a company doesn't even care enough to provide a page that doesn't take two minutes to load on a high-speed connection, why should i expect them to care about anything else?

but anyway, it's just my opinion. if people are comfortable with the idea that it's up to the end-user to do the seller's job, they're welcome to do business with those builders. and of course Tom can have subforae for whoever he wants.

Because that's terrible logic.

I'll agree with that to an extent but the fact is if you want to be on the "cutting edge" of new pedals (which isnt everyone's thing, and doesnt have to be), you'll have to put up with fairly amateurish site's and building schedules. A new builder coming up with the next big thing is his garage probably isnt thinking about web design.

Also, a lot of these guys can only build a certain amount of their designs a month, and if word-of-mouth is filling their quota then they wouldn't be interested in making the experience easier. Maybe it's even part of their "boutique mystique" (gayest thing I've ever typed).

edit: that was for dubkitty not responding to Mcsprinkle, I type slow.

I think main crux of the problem is that the people that tinker with circuits and build pedals are too fucking busy to take the not insignificant amount of time it would take to become sufficiently good at web design to produce what is considered a "good" website nowadays, and they're usually too fucking poor to hire someone to do it.

mid-fi has a subforum here - did you look at the website yet?

Yea, the Mid-Fi page is hilariously unfunctional, like the dawn-of-the-internet type shit. Doug rules though, super easy to get ahold of through here or email.

Its about pedals not the website, although I understand what you're saying. However, not caring about a website does not mean they don't care about their products. That's a bit over the top. I have been in a band for over a year and we didn't have any kind of internet site until recently and its just a bandcamp. Doesn't mean I don't care I just feel like we have been getting by fine without it, ya dig?
