added an adaptor hookup, removed the broken battery clip. also added a starve pot on the side. this was for my good friend and band mate. he didn't want to put it where the LED was and move the LED cause he is obsessed with symetry and keeping the LED in it stock bezle someone on ILF had popped the idea of a voltage divider instead of the traditional starve pot. well I did it with a 100kA pot and another 100k resistor to ground. it works almost like a volume knob. it DOES change the sound but it is not exactly like the 10k starve pot in series with V+. this is some kind of russian muff BTW. he painted it a long time ago. I might add the 10k pot next time I see him. he really wants the gated splattery fuzz. I had to flip the PCB over to fit the power jack. he likes it better with input on the right anyway. I also need to replace the pcb mount jacks that are starting to fail.
yeah get those shitty jacks outta there. i like the idea of a voltage divider as a starve, but how does it work on the muff? i kinda thought muffs were unaffected by starve cause they handle batteries well when theyre at a low voltage
Yeah exactly. Just sounds like a volume knob. Has a nice range of dimming the LED that goes with the volume effect. It shuts off when the starve is %90 ccw. The only noticeable difference in sound was right before it shuts off. I was gonna do the oldschool starve next time but i guess it will just be the same. Like you said, it doesnt really do anything. Also, i think it got a little dirtier on bass than guitar when starved but its hard to tell after a quick test with one guitar and one bass.
Just finished this. I could not be more happy with it. The switch is a for 2 different fuzz sounds. The knob is a volume. By far my favorite build. First one with a real finish too.

(Don't worry, spouses come and go, ILF is forever.)
Is that a peps1 kit? I've been thinking about trying one of those. After I botched my stripboard RAT last year I think I am ready for a new attempt. Kits are easier, at least you can't fuck up sourcing. (Also it takes forever and is really annoying.)
