My friends band got robbed in San Diego. Please take a look.

My buddies The Scandals were on their first U.S tour and were in San Diego from New Jersey about to start the trip back across the country and their van was robbed last night. I was told they have a sheet with serial numbers for all of there gear but its not listed on the link I have. This is a completely fucked situation as everyone knows when someone gets all their gear stolen on tour and to top it off was planning on playing shows the whole way back across the country to pay for gas and everything else they need. If anyone is in that area or have a friend around there and could keep an eye out it would mean the world to me and them. http://www.facebook.com/TheScandalsNJ heres the link to their facebook it will have pictures of the gear on it and if you like their music you could get in touch with them on their page and our friend who has merch here at home will send it out to you to help get them back on their feet. -4 pc black and red Pearl Forum drumset

-1 Pearl Chad Smith snare

-Hardware for drums in bag with broken wheel

-Marshall JCM2000 amplifier head

-Line6 Spider head with checkerboard front and Korg tuner built in.

-Merch box with 65 "The Scandals" shirts

-Arri 300 watt fresnel light ( silver an blue in color)

-WF 717 camera tripod

I got my entire rig stolen in San Diego a couple years back. Including my pedalboard and the nicest bong I've ever owned. Fuck that city pretty much everyone there is a spoiled shit, worst part is the guys who stole your friends stuff were probably rich ass white kids from beach towns.

There are plenty of asshole, gear stealing, douches here, but I can't think of a place without any. That is seriously shitty though, and I will watch Craigslist and check out local guitars shops to see if I spot any of their gear.

They got home last night so were probably going to grab a beer and hear this story in whole and the rest of their tour they spent a few days in Vegas for Punk Rock Bowling played a show with the band Guttermouth and ended up with VIP passes for the Descendants show. I saw one of their girlfriends post a craigslist ad that was for a marshall jcm2000 no idea if it was theirs or not hoping for the best though. Skeleton Crew Records started a donation fund if anyone listened to and liked the music. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=176794799045761 anything would help and if anyone is in the Hudson County area of New Jersey we are throwing an all day party/show at a bar with The Scandals, Through Thorn and Brier, and my band Lastletters. along with a few others maybe. It will be donation only to get in were going to be grilling food ,probably drink specials, and all that jazz. For those in South Jersey on the 15th they are playing their singer/guitarist birthday party show at the Asbury Lanes which is always a good time even just to hang out. These kind of stories scare the crap out of me, hasn't happened to me yet but I'd probably cry if it was me. All the best I guess.

Yeah my girlfriend said the same thing and asked if it discouraged me from touring. You hear this pretty frequently but you never think its that serious until someone you know gets robbed because most times with me you hear about a band on a label and I just assume the label will help em with new gear which most times may not be the case. Worst part is my buddy was doing merch with them but flew back home after vegas because he wouldnt have a job anymore after taking off for two weeks of work, and he was telling us that him and their guitarist would sleep in the van with everything any night they would stay in a motel if they had a day off and whatnot and that they would just park the vans back doors close to the rooms door so it would be hard to get into the van. This kinda brought light to the situation of what if someone tried to rob them and they were asleep in the van and they werent just some kids trying to rob someones gear but real deal criminals that could have fucked them up bad or killed em.

What they should do is call all the local guitar stores and pawn stores and tell them what got stolen and give them the serial numbers. They'll keep an eye out.

what a bunch of assholes! the rehersal space im sharing with a bunch of bands had a break in last year, and i lost most of my pedals.
