I don't have a strat simply for the fact that the bridge/middle position makes me punch ducks.

ha, you don't have to use it! I'm on the neck pickup 95% of the time.
Maybe partying will help.

i've got one of each :thumb: but my strat is just special. the neck pickup is pretty fat/warm sounding for a single coil and i really don't get that "quack". And i've got a humbucker in the bridge that i don't really use that much, so it's getting a P90 of some sort to make things interesting :snax:

So, I remembered to take a picture of my other guitar:
Image
A 1963 Harmony Hollywood. Bought this when I thought I really wanted a full hollowbody, blues guitar. Actually played for a few months straight, but it didn't last. It only wants to be clean, and I can't be. Still, I can't get rid of it. It has indie cred.

That harmony is sweet, I used to have a similar Kay, I remember being able to get feed back on specific strings depending on where I was.

Is it that it doesn't sound good dirty, or that you get loads of feedback? I saw a band where the guitarist used one of those and it sounded amazing with overdrive.

With my strat im on the bridge %99 of the time. Neck pickup is usefull for solos or to get a different sound from a fuzz. I use the tone knob when im in the neck playing fuzz and i want even more bass/mids

My favorite Fuzz/Disto tones on guitar are usually the result of Neck PUP only, Tone almost/or all the way off,....play high up on the neck. Even through a SS Amp it sounds so secks.

Usually why when I'm searching for a guitar,...a bridge pickup only guitar will not do.

I have an LP Jr. that gets no love for this very reason. Only neck pickup is trve.

In a perfect world I'd like the strat neck sound with the tele bridge sound, but the tele is close enough. Plus it has the wicked middle position for western toanz.

This does the same thing. It's cool for a wash sound.

Tonnes of feedback, I tried playing today through the ss amp and the 4x12 and I nearly blew something. The Harmony plays well with dirt, loves my fender blender, but feedback can go from barely controllable with palm muting to self ossoliating and painful.

Just took this big group shot. I have another few cheapies on loan, but this is by far the biggest part of the quiver.
