I have a Hipshot Bass Extender coming in.

When I was switching out strings on my old Warwick Corvette, I noticed that some of the screws were stripped on the saddles. So, I ordered a new set of saddles, but also thought about replacing the tuners, since they were old as well. And with that, I'd been debating putting a Hipshot on this bass for years, either for a Drop-A or to string it up E-C and still have a low D if needed.

I am with you too as well, I have the funds to get one if I wanted one but dropping 2g on a head and then have nothing left in the bank is a hard thing for me (at least) to do.
