I don't/didn't "bang" drugs. i treat them with more respect than that. i've taken MDA and MMDA, and found neither particularly enthralling; i've referred to both as "buffered speed" given that they're basically sophisticated amphetamine molecules, and found the experience to be essentially that. and i'm not going to get in a pissing match over anyone's preferred drug of choice. if you find them to be fun, or can convince yourself that there's meaning in them, mazel tov, but IMO they're a waste of time, money, and life energy that could be better spent singing, fucking, walking the dog, or watching TV. just my opinion, as someone who has been smoking dope for forty years. i'd quit but honestly it's one of the only things i have left by which i recognize myself as the person i was back when i was young and i still sort of liked myself.

But you must admit, all of the things you mentioned go great with drugs.

This reminds me of those anti-drug commercials where the kids are doing a bunch of things, like going to the record store, eating hamburgers, listening to music while looking at the clouds lying on one of those park merry-go-rounds presumably before they start fucking each other's brains out. I'm watching that and thinking, "Gee, those are all the kinds of things I like to do when I'm smoking pot."

I also get a kick out of that one where the girl is talking about how she doesn't let trends or peer pressure influence her so why would she let drugs influence her, the implication being that somehow this commercial is different and the one thing you should let influence you even though it is deliberately conveying the value of independent thought.

naw that's really not true, I didn't do shit today. Matter of fact, I slept for more than 10 hours for the second time this week.

I learned long ago that I can't do any kind of drug. Whatever it is supposed to do it won't do for me.

Pot turns me into a megalomaniac and gives me delusions and god only knows what else.

The last time I tried it - at a party - I literally went insane. At one point I thought that I couldn't talk so I would write down what I wanted to say and one of my friends would read it. Until he started talking to someone on his own and I flipped out, shouting "YOU SPEAK WORDS I HAVE NOT WRITTEN!!!!!!!!!" while pointing my finger at him like I was going to smite him. Later that night he was watching tv in the livingroom of my place with a girl I invited only because he liked her and in my pot induced state I took it as a personal affront that they were just watching tv and not having sex or something and I started shouting - right in front of her - "YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE! I INVITED HER FOR YOU! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THE FUCK SHE IS! AND YOU'RE JUST WATCHING TV LIKE A DICK! SHE'S HERE BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO FUCK HER! WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING JUST WATCHING TV WHEN YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE FUCKING HER!" And I'm pointing at her face from like 3 feet away this whole time while he's trying to get me to shut up. He had to physically restrain me. I don't even know what else went on that night. Supposedly I went on to play beer pong and won 15 games in a row.

Painkillers have almost 0 effect on me - nor apparently a lot of the men on my dads side of the family. Even minor surgery hurts a lot when the painkillers don't do anything... An extremely high dosage would only give me 5-15 minutes of pain relief. I ended up being in the hospital for a long time, first for the medical condition, and then because I was in so much pain I couldn't eat. I wasn't able to keep a single thing down for 2 and a half weeks and lost 25 pounds. I don't even know if they maybe tried feeding me with a tube or something because I was so out of my mind.

back in the day a friend had an acquaintance who was allergic to marijuana. which sounds innocuous enough until you realize that this was the early 70s, which meant that this poor bloke couldn't go to a rock concert without breaking out in a case of severe hives. not even a Chicago concert.

I want to track down some 2C-EF and DON. I'm all out of 25C-Nbome (acid like but the tolerance level develops fast as fuck; BOO)
Acid has gotten expensive (I wish it was the 90s when it was apparently 2-3 bucks a hit and gas was 75 cents)

And by bang I mean do. not shoot. that is bad. Plug it.

Psychs are fine. Shulgin is up near 90.

i was interpreting "bang" not so much as "shoot" though i understand that's the primary definition as i was reading it synonymous to the UK usage "cane," i.e. do loads of in a rapid and excessive fashion. being an official SpaceRitual designated Old Fart, i learned young not to pound drugs rapidly. vomiting up pharmaceuticals is not fun.

i suppose a certain part of my disinterest in psychedelics--or crypto-psychedelics as the case may be--nowadays is that i found for myself that all the various psychedelics i took became redundant eventually as the experiences became somewhat repetitive. or maybe it's that i'm just too old and too crazy for that sort of thing any more. psychedelics are a young and healthy mans' game, i think.

crypto psychedelics are interesting, but a large part of the 2c family is boring. Some get much better adding an Nbome extension (thus reducing the dose amount closer to acid).

Speaking of which lets see how fast the internet yields acid.

(30 min later)

Hello Netherlands acid.

Didn't bebop jazz solos take advantage of this to an extreme? As long as the root notes in your phrase are there, you can pretty much slide up/down to whatever and sound highly technical.

Well it's not *quite* that simple, but yea...bebop does give you that freedom (mostly because the harmony is so complex anyway that just about any note will fit into the chords  )
