I'm less annoyed by the OP as I am by some of the smugness and unoriginality. FWIW I call all Muse related threads troll threads now. There is no other explanation. Unless Muse puts out a new album,...there is absolutely nothing that hasn't already been discussed about Chris W's signal chain.

I'm not against Muse,...in fact there are a few songs that I really like by Muse (Matt Bellamy's lyrics are absolute shit though). I'm just over the worship.

And the funny thing is, there is a guy on TB that is just like kaput, but about Justin. And he PM'd me with all kinds of hush-hush super-secret info about how Justin's signal chain REALLY is. Oy vey. Look, I love Tool. And I even did have a kinda-Justin-like board at one point, because my metal covers band does like 6 different Tool songs along with our other shit. But I eventually figured out that I can do Tool covers that sound really close using completely different gear (other than the Whammy, that one I still really do need). Which was awesome, because that freed me to swap everything out to pedals I actually wanted.

i was in a funk/metal band when i was a little kicken (BEFORE Korn and stuff. we did play with Deftones a bit though. they used to have WAY more kinda reggae-y beats). we always got stuck playing with way too hardcore or thrash bands. so most shows i would wear a jumpsuit or cover-alls type thingie then halfway through the set take it off and have on a schoolgrrL mini-skirt with high socks or something. confused the HELL out of the more meatheady of the audience.

good times. i don't really have the figure to pull that off now though. oh well.

DO it. just make sure you can handle some homophobic thrashers all up in your grill. it happens sometimes. luckily, i'm a somewhat large dude, and my guitarist at the time was a fucking GANGSTA. he rolled strapped to every show and was just an intimidating little Laotian midget.

I don't mean to detract from those guy's talent and taste in tone,...I just think it's funny that someone would go to all the trouble to create a huge post with the hope that it gets stickied and then it just turns into a megathread that no one knows about or will bother searching for. I've actually found those threads interesting,...but in the case of Kaput,...his smugness is repaid by the lack of recognition for his thread. Honestly,...recognition (attention whoring) is the only reason I think he put in all that effort. The JC thread not so much,...because it was born out of frustration from all the Fanboy "how do I get" threads,...but after that the sticky idea become unoriginal (hey,...I fell prey to that with my FX lexicon thread hoping it would get stickied).

Obviously the mods are done with additional stickies and will only update existing stickies or sticky new rules and announcements. That's fine by me,...but Kaput (as well as myself) should have known that it would never happen. Are they good resources? Sure why not,...but the only traffic they are going to get are being pointed too when some noob comes on asking how to get the Pushit sound.

In the end it's no big deal,...just part of the learning curve after spending ~5 years part of that forum.

Well they didn't do it when FX had a lot more traffic then now and there were like two threads a week at least for any of the "big" three and one for Flea so why would they care now? Saving horny 14 year old boys from reading the word FUCK and SHIT and WTF and CUNT is so must more important then actually making info easy to find on a site with a shitty search function!
