The pit of an avocado releases an enzyme that keeps the flesh of the avocado from spoiling. This is why if you serve avocado you should keep the pit in the bowl (or whatever) with it - otherwise it will begin to brown.
When boxing gloves were made mandatory in the sport it became more dangerous than it was bare knuckle. The bones of the hand are more brittle than those in the head. This means that bare knuckled you can't punch consistently with as much force without eventually damaging your hands. Wearing gloves prevents hand injuries and allows the boxer to deliver far more damage to his opponents head than he might have without.
If you are hydrated, beer has a dehydrating effect, however if you are dehydrated, drinking one beer will hydrate you better than the same quantity of water.

Not only fun, but so much learning!
Except steam... I don't get that, but it doesn't worry me like it might if you had listed it by itself.

Steam is an online game store/network that has crazy good deals on video games. Take Portal 1 for example, at one point they were just giving it away for free. This week EA series are on sale (a different one each day) and everything is mad cheap. I bought Need For Speed Undercover yesterday for $2.50. Today it's the Sims 3 and all the expansions and Sim City 4.
