These ARE the reissues of the old 60's guitars. These started production in the early 2000s, apparently didn't sell too hot here and were discontinued a few years ago in the eastern land of rainbows and insanity
If they re-reissue them you better believe I'll have a stockpile. I'll have a fucking doubleneck SBV/SGV, I'll have a lance made out of SBV necks with which to spear any Dumble speaker cones.
how do people not like it? its probably like one of maybe 5 legitimately original body shapes outside of fender and gibson
I personally blame it on their use of the canary yellow guitars in ads. I can't fault someone for seeing a bright yellow SGV and immediately thinking "gross", there's probably a 90/10 ratio of "gross" to "AWESOME".

story: my jmascis jazzmaster is since 4 years my main guitar. i played around with the dressing room and designed exactly this guitar. first i wanted to convert any other model fender model (mexican jm etc.) but i do not really like the original jm bridge. so i ran across a good deal of a used jmascis jm on ebay. this got lollars in, the american gold anodized pickguard (they are gold, the japanes look more like copper) and went to a guitar builder to refinish it. So under the green sparkle (with a slight burst) is the original purple jm sparkle.
I love sparkle jazzmasters, green sparkle is top notch! Do you have any pics of it without stage lighting, just sitting there in all it's glory? Looks great though! I love the matching headstock, not sure why Fender abandoned that feature on most of it's offsets, I think it looks way cooler.
I miss the matching headstocks too. That's a might perdy JM you got there. I'm looking forward to seeing the good lighting shots too.

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

This guitar is gonna be a damn king. Like i'm transformed into King Morpheus with scepter. Like, see, man, I'm gonna play this thing all the time. Every day! Did I mention? It will have x-tender keys on E and G so I could tune DADA. New better-voiced varitone circuit's going in, too,~ ! Birdsong guitars site (slash spam)
