The problem is that most these nerds are basing their generalizations on wimminz that are magazine appropriate as opposed to their actual peers.

Most wimminz musicians that I've met IRL only picked up an instrument because they feel like it will make them more appealing to the opposite sex. It's the only reason why I strapped on a guitar. A ploy that was destined to fail. I was doomed by my 9 prior years of piano lessons.

At this point I will point out that some of our Mums are musicians. Women start playing instruments for all the same varied reasons as men. There is no fucking difference.

At this point I will point out that some of our Mums are musicians.

Speak for yourself (sorry if my stance rubs you the wrong way).

Mom took piano lessons for a maybe a year or so in her youth.

My great grandmother was a piano player even after a stroke left her without use of one of her arms (left I believe),...but she was abusive too. She used to punch me right in the spine if I was slouching at the piano (okay I'm not seriously lumping my great grandmother in with annoying female musicians).

I'm the only musician in my family currently,...save a distant cousin or two.

I guess it's just the local,...brooding,...angsty types that are off putting. They have a guitar and sing; but can only do either marginally,...but are considered local celebrities even though their music is trite and mediocre. Then there are a few local xtian wimminz S/SWs,.... They may have a different agenda (IE do it to serve christ and god),...but they are equally as uninspiring. Maybe they have a good voice,...but it's just not for me.

You gotta remember that for the most part,...these TB nerds are basing their generalizations on popular wimminz musicians that make it onto the cover of Modern Drummer or Bass Player magazine,...which to me is no different then fantasizing/lusting after a porn star. Looks good on paper; but nowhere near reality.

True dat....this place is pretty much a joke. Not that I don't have any friends that are serious about music,....none of them are women though.

Most Spokane musicians aren't serious about music. Those that are move to Seattle or PDX. The ones that stay are too busy quibbling with one another to take the time to practice, rehearse or get to know their gear. The ones that stick around and are serious,....tend to ignore or scoff at the shirkers.

It's just the silliness of feeling a connection with an opposite sex musician whom you've likely never met that I'm trying to point out. You never know,...that opposite sex musician that people are fantasizing over could be a complete bitch/asshole.
