i just eat them like oranges, but i'm weird that way...i even eat citrus seeds. my mother's mode of eating grapefruit was to slice them in two along their equator and then scoop the individual half-wedges out of their skins with a spoon; there is--or used to be--a special "grapefruit spoon" with a serrated front edge to facilitate this.

what i do is peel 'em, try to get most of the pith off, then split them in half, then peel the pith off of every individual section. it's easy if you grab the like... strand in the middle/top of each piece. it's hard to describe without pics. for some reason i hate oranges but love grapefruit.

That's my method as well. But before you start scooping you inundate it with sugar. But not confectioners, cause I like the added crunch.
