Also, I know that the second you talk shit about the Beach Boys, somebody will not let it go because they think you just haven't listened to them enough, effectively being the John Travolta jabbing an adrenaline shot into the Uma Thurman boob that is this thread.

Anytime i even hear "beach boys" mentioned i leave because i know the scene is fucked for the rest of the night.

Shouldn't you need a why to like something rather than too dislike it? The reason I don't like them is because they are bland. They are bland because I don't find anything interesting about their music because absolutely nothing they do fits under what I find interesting. I'm not sure what doesn't make sense about that.

and I don't like Animal Collective because they sound like four people who are completely unaware that they are supposed to be in the same group. They have a few songs I find enjoyable, but their overall sound just irritates me for some reason.

I don't like Dream Theatre because they're simply not "my cup of tea" and haven't ever listened to them enough to have any substantial opinion.

That's idiotic. No one needs well constructed reasoning to explain a dislike for something. When I hear a song or a band that I don't like, I don't come up with reasons why. If I don't like it, I don't like it, simple as that.
