Re: Exercise Challenge
I just realised i've been doing it wrong... if sets don't matter i'm actually doing about 60 a day at the moment... plus a bunch of other exercise.
I'll just play along in my head and post my final result, about 2 months ago I was doing 300 a Day... damn you Over indulgent christmas *Shakes Fist*

Well it counts as exercise obviously but it isn't the challenge. I picked push-ups for several reasons:
1. Push-ups are probably the most basic and fundamental upper-body exercise.
2. They require no gym membership, equipment, and relatively little time to perform.
3. The relative simplicity of push-ups makes them a good place to start for beginners, and a good thing to keep up for "veterans".
4. Exercises in which you move your body like push-ups, pull-ups, and squats activate more muscle fibers than any kind of weight lifting that doesn't (presses, pull-downs, extensions, etc.).
5. Push-ups more than any other exercise help prevent injuries (A. You use your hands wrists and arms to break falls, arrest motion, and protect your body. B. Push-ups work your core muscles also which benefits overall health and durability, even to areas such as digestion. Etc.)
6. It is also very difficult - if not impossible - to injure yourself doing push-ups as you are using only your body weight.
Etc.
Even if you workout already I recommend adding push-ups into your routine. It will only benefit you. In fact if you do just 50 push-ups every day on top of your normal lifting routine I guarantee you'll see a big different in just a couple months.

Make 60 your new start point then. If you think you can do it.

this pretty much.
not going to do the pushups, but in a few days i'm going to start running 5 times a week (hopefully every day) again. goal is to get up to 30 miles a week in a month or so
