I don't hate Jersey Shore, or most reality TV, in itself. It's horrible and I've made my piece with that. What pisses me off is when people say they watch it to make fun of it or because it's funny, and then the second it comes on they start talking about "That time so-and-so did this to somebody else" or "how bad they felt for Whoever when This-Person broke up with them." If you know the names of a majority of the people on the show, I say you've gone beyond the threshold of irony.

Let me also say, for context, that I take television very seriously. I am a highly intelligent person and I want to punch people in the face when they act all high and mighty because they don't watch TV. Stupid people are stupid. TV doesn't help, but it doesn't make anybody stupider than they already are.
