like I said, no, You don't have to - You get to play, and then, after certain longish time, You get ever better in what is the best loved activity to You.

Practising six hours a day, tears inyour eyes, might not get You where You get by practising four hours a day filled with silent joy and enthusiasm. Just saying.
Haha I wasn't being serious. I usually practice from acouple minutes to several hrs a day. Typically I want to mess around with a ccertain riff or sound and will play with that...next thing I know I look at the clock and 3hrs have gone by. I always have a good time playing.
Yeah, I've done both, a lot
so I'm biased for irony of it. I think I taught the then group wit our über music school nazi singer to be absolutely ruthless about it to each other. And afterwards I've noticed that ...well, what seemed to give results and stress back then just doesn't fly anymore
Such a release.

I'm sorry, I just played a show and am covered in blood. What was that you were saying about practice?

I WOULD, but all my music stuff is at the practice space, across town. And I don't drive. And I have to help look after my girlfriend's kids. I'LL GO TOMORROW MOM, I PROMISE.

Okay, so in the next thread been there, done that, bought the t-sirt and did the laundry we can start sharing expert tips like in the fukken shopping channel
about how to best get rid of the bloodstains, the icky marks and the stench in the instruments, the pedals, the stage clothes and how not to spread the foulish smell all around the laundry....
Practised yesterday night, after the rest of the family was vast asleep, from 00.00 to 2.00 and sipped a bit wine. Woke up to feed kids and continue starting from 8.06 am to check details in the near future cover songs. Off for rehearsals with the new drummer for the first time in three hours, and feelig all

I wish I could practice when I'm not practicing... I'm in three bands (3-5 practices/rehearsals/whatever a week) and I still wish I had time to practice outside of practice.

Yeah, I know,
because ALL the facilities seem to cost a fortune
, I have usually ended up with three or even more bands playing in the same place, to cut down the expences. The avarage rent for a regular one room storage that can be worked into a real practice studio, with a toilet and running water, cost like 500€ or more a month. And a readily equipped and sound proofed room rented from a reahearsal rental company costs twice that a month, so the Youngsters and the students can't afford that at all without a recording company that probably has a deal with the rental companies.

That's insane, dude. My main band practices in our bass player's basement for free. My second band pays $10 each a month for our space. My third band plays in my best friend's living room in the most relaxed part of Milwaukee. Guess I got lucky.
