:thumb: I loved the song! ep 11 kicks ass too... Garterbelt's history was revealed and a ball gag was used and part two was sitting on a sofa waiting for 9 and a half hours :thumb:

fucking anime!

you can skip nge... its gotta be the most overrated anime ever.. instead watch these!!!!!!

TV
kino's journey - kino travels around on a motorcyle and investigates various fictional cultures and their weird customs
golden boy - tokyo university drop-out who goes around japan on his bike seducing women and studying life. who needs books???!!! study study study!
great teacher onizuka - former bike gang leader turned jr high teacher getting into all kinds of shenanigans
k-on - not much else to say really
beck - maybe responisble for getting me to pick up the guitar again after not playing for years
planetes - focuses on a group of garbage collectors in space set in the near future. very realistic
honey and clover - about a group of students in an art college in tokyo. emotional truths galore!
nana - two girls named nana move to tokyo and end up living together. one plays in and band and the other is a ditz... mostly focuses on their relationship problems. very well developed characters + it sucks you in as you get further into it.

MOVIES
whisper of the heart - why wasn't i born a japanese schoolgirl. one of the best movies ever, anime or not
belladonna of sadness - trippy psychedelic anime from the early 70s... very cool!

MANGA
solanin - young couple struggles to cope with adulthood and the direction of his band. a movie was made recently.. pretty good too.
trailer for the new movie: maybe just watch beacusse aoi miyzaki is a cutie <3<3<3 +there's a nice seafoam green mustang

Fuck yeah, Solanin is great. Absolutely loved it, Inio Asano's stuff is fantastic! I super enjoyed "Before Dawn and the End of The World".
I'm wary of the movie though, not a fan of Japanese drama.

As for other manga, I'm also a big fan of Ciguatera. It's a shame nobody else seems to have heard of it.
I'm not even ashamed to say that Welcome to the NHK was life-changing. It was like looking into a mirror at the time.

I also recommend Believers. It's only two volumes long and follows the lives of 3 cult members on a small abandoned island. Shit rocks.

hmm, before dawn and the end of the world looks great, i will definitely check that out. i haven;t read any of inio asano's other stuff. will look up the other ones you listed tomorrow

solanin the movie was pretty good though... don't be afraid of japanese dramas! japan has the best cinema in the world imo, with a rich history dating back a hundred years. so many great directors..... yasujiro ozu, nagisa oshima, kon ichikawa, kaneto shindo, yoshishige yoshida, koji wakamatsu, shuji terayama, sogo ishii, shinya tsukamoto, takeshi kitano, kiyoshi kurosawa, nobuhiro yamashita, ryuichi hiroki...... you are safe to explore, my friend :snax:

I’m watching Heroman right now.
It’s ok, a bit derivative and not up to the hype of being by Stan Lee.

Metal Chicks do the back ground music so there is a bit of good in it.

Check out Crunchyroll.com
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime

Lots of free anime and can be linked to your Roku box to be watched on TV.

Everyone must watch Neo Tokyo for the awesome art alone.
(the audio is a little bit out of sync here, sadly)

And also Cyber City Oedo 808.
It reminds me of Contra: Hard Corps, the best Genesis game that nobody else seems to have played...
