Can’t go wrong with Real Bout High School or Battle Vixens both came from Magna and are entertaining at least to mindless weirdoes like me.

I've had this on my computer for a while but I haven't watched it yet. I don't know why.

I liked the first half... after that it got too Disney for me.

:idk: I like older Disney stuff.

And I just started watching Requiem from the Darkness and I'm diggin it. I like teh animation.

Speaking of animation I like, Cashern Sins and The Tatami Galaxy are up there.

Oh yeah, The Tatami Galaxy is good. I love the art style, especially the backgrounds they use.

Also I recommend Cromartie High School...in the English dub! I know, heresy, but it really is superior in English. Far superior.
Same with FLCL. And Cowboy Bebop.

:idk:

edit: Another good anime for starting out with (and good period) is Dennou Coil. It has better-than-average animation quality and a very immersive atmosphere. Is that a word?

Immersing? It's gotta be "immersive".

Yeah maybe but not FLCL... engerish Mimi I don't like... Bebop I like Spike and Fay in English and Ed and Jet in Japanese :idk:

Dennou Coil is good, I haven't made it all the way though yet but I did read the manga and liked that, also I think one of the most perverted yuri doujins I've ever read was a Dennou Coil one, one of the few that even got me to go "oh please :whateva: " a few times...

I think I've seen that...not sure if there are any good ones. At least I haven't come across any.

Miyazake films are like the "mainstream" anime films, I'd start there, then go to your local comic book store and ask the clerk for help, he'll probably faint from your stupod question, so...

Wut, no Champloo? :p
But I'd definitely start with Cowboy Bebop and Princess Mononoke.

After that, Muddy made a pretty comprehensive list in the main anime thread that I'm too lazy to go find...

On a side-ish note all I have been watching in terms of current stuff is Panty Stocking and Squid Girl... and I don't like Squid Girl... I was following some maid piece too but I keep loosing track of it...

Oh yeah! I love Panty Stocking, It's like Ren & Stimpy mixed with Dead leafs but awsome and sexy. It makes every 'merican cartoon since Zim, and Samurai Jack look sad and lame. Did I mention that Gainax is my favorite studio... well it is!

It's kind of like what Powerpuff Girls would be if Blossom was a slut and Bubbles/Buttercup was a gothic lolita. Similar art style though, I really like it.
