Jeez man, that sucks.

I try to be really conscious of bikes whenever I'm on the road. We've got a decent biking population here. We've also got plenty of horrible drivers, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was an issue for bike riders around here.

I hope you're all right, Jero!

Hahaha oh you guys are why I post this crap here. I was getting a good laugh or two at the hospital reading some of these.
Oddly/Sadly? enough, y'all were the 3rd persons I told about the wreck, after my roommate and mother

About a week later I was riding to work. I was on a long straightaway, picking up speed. An SUV ahead of me suddenly decided to turn right without looking. I had enough time to think "Oh no no no no" before I hit the side of the vehicle. Flew off my bike. Over the hood.

This was a 2nd time for me as well. First time was an f250 pulling out from an intersection.

I am ok by the way, thanks for the words of encouragement fellas! My wrist and knees are kind of jacked but nothings broke. They made xrays of my right knee, which was the most damaged. I have to go back in a week or two and will prob get an MRI to check the tendons and tissue. My nerve is severed in the leg so I have a completely dead/numb spot that will take a few months to heal.

I mostly went to the hospital for a formality and to be safe. Going to be making a case with the guys insurance to at least pay for the damage to my bike (it is a fairly nice road bike), and my hospital bills. Not really looking to ruin anybody or anything.

It was actually a lot of fun in there. I was in the trauma room (they thought I was going over 20mph on a motorcycle & got hit) and being talked to by like 7 people at once, all asking me the same questions. One group would leave, then 2 or 3 new people would come in. They'd leave and then a guy would pop his head in and ask my last name. Someone else, "whats your b-day," another person, "spell your last name"...after like 15 minutes of feeling like they are messing with me I'd had enough. I said "Are you fucking with me!? I feel like you guys are testing me to make sure I'm not mental or something." Lots of laughs.

i was talking to a friend of mine whose been single for a while, and he wants to know if i knew any girls he'd be interested in. Then we walked by a guitar shop and saw the new EHX big muffs, which he told me "man, i LOVE big muffs", and i told him "well, i know a couple of au natural ladies, you would just love."

... that was more a bad mysogenist joke than anything .___.

a drummer is moving into a new apartment, and he has to consolidate his schtuff. whats the one thing he can't keep?

how many guitar techs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
10. one to do it, and 9 to tell him how they would put the lightbulb in a loop circuit to automatically cut off once the air conditioner cuts in, so it doesn't feed back.

hahahaha that's great

BTW, I was riding in the bike lane when this happened. The driver of the car "was looking for other traffic...didn't see me." He turned right into me.

Cuz bikes sure aren't traffic! No way no how.

Denton is FILLED with single speed enthusiasts. I've nearly hit a few at night because they don't have any lights or reflectors. But, hipsters are never a good example of people.

Feel better soon, man.

What is that cop doing and why? Is the US that bike hating? Is it such a danger for their oil-industry?

I don't know the story there but most cyclists in NYC are assholes. They'll mow down anyone in their path.

While I in no way condone random police brutality towards cyclisists, those critical mass guys can be a real pain in the ass.
