Just Saw The Deathly Hallows Part I

Post by theshoegazer »

Pretty great film. I'm not a fanboi by any measure and I was thoroughly entertained for the duration of the picture. Excellent pacing and cinematography. Can't wait for the last one.

Anyone else see it? Wadja think?

I wrote a huge comment on the Harry Potter sereis but my computed fucked up, so here it is in short, all of teh movies are the same except for a littel tiny part of it that gets carried into teh next book, and seriously it has turned into way too big of a "thing," it's pretty Meh...

Considering I've also read all of teh books except for the last one, i had my realization jsut in time.

I don't like the Harry Potter series. So I read all the books so people would at least not dismiss me as not having read the series.

I just realized I read somewhere in the neighborhood of 5000 pages all out of hate for a fictional character...

Maybe I have a problem :erm:

The movies are ok as far as blockbusters go.

I had the opposite response, hated HP after seeing the first movie and all they hype, ended up reading the books so I could justify having an opinion, and am now a huge shameless fan boy.

They are kids books, so don't get the people who read them then SPEW venom that there not up there with Milan Kundera, or Albert Camus.....and sure there are some really lazy bits like the fact that ever black characters is described as "tall and black", seriously there are about 6 references!?!?!?!

But fact remains when I have kids, these will be there bedtime stories!

Cant wait to see the movie so I can slag it off and say the book is so much better ;)

well... when HP got published for the first time, i was just a kid :) i loved it instantly, then another one and another one... and a also went to see all those movies to the cinema with my grandfather, who also liked the books

but as the time went by, i noticed i don't like it very much anymore... so i didn't read the last what... one or two books and didn't see the last movie, so i'm not going to change it and go and see a new movie :idk:

the idea, the concept evolving is just evolving too slowly and when i look back on those books, i think there is too much "generic" parts and motifs to make them longer i guess...

i'm not a hater, i liked the series and i'm not ashamed for it, i just don't care anymore (yeah, that reminds me of my ex :poke: heh, i hate when that happens )

Okay I finally watched it. With me ma, me woman, and me belly full of Chinese food. Pretty damn good! The 5th movie was pretty blah, the 3rd movie is a god damn masterpiece, and the rest are very enjoyable.

I loved the books. Kidstuff but it gets pretty dark and then really good at the end, plus she kills off like half the main/lovable characters and I adore authors that don't pussy out when it comes to DEATH like that.

i was actually really disappointed with the movie.

granted the book is 90% angsting in the woods until 2/3 if the way through.

and is it just me, or did the whole "being-chased-by-the-stalkers" make you feel like you were watching Twilight? seriously.

and fuck da haters, i liked the epilogue

Yes, the chase seen in teh forest was very "Twilight-ish," and personally (and no offense) but British People can't really use emotions, it just looks cheasy and fake when they have an emotion besides for being happy, or content, but like I said no offense british ILFer's
