Wow! That is an amazing sounding and gorgeous looking pedal. Such a sweet design... totally brings the old Maestro pedals to mind. If only I had $375 free to invest in a delay... alas...

I'm looking for an analog delay and this is one of them that is at the top of my list.

Some really nice demos of the upgraded AD4096 with 800ms of delay on the EAR Facebook page. Guitar, bass, keys and even a Rhythm Ace drum machine (Funk Box!) As soon as they post the instructions I'll be doing mine.

A fine pedal I'm sure. A bit too tgp for me though. These days there's A LOT of nice bucket brigade delays out there I'd try first before spending 340 bucks on a what's essentially a pretty basic analog dealy with oscillation capabilities. $340 will only buy you the standard 400ms btw, don't even want to know what you'd have to pay extra for twice the delay time

I don't think you've heard this baby self-oscillate with some fuzz in the repeats. Holy crap. Eivind uses it and it sounds amazing. He's getting the chip installed. Looking forward to hearing it in action :snax:

If I remember correctly, this is primarily two AD4096s: one as a sound sorce and one for processing. There's probably some other stuff happening but yeah.

The upgrade board is $35 so yeah, not a lot…

I've always had an unreasonable amount of GAS for one of these based on looks alone.

I always thought the demos sounded "meh" but then I played one and hot damn does it sound great for a dark murky, wash.

I don't wanna hear it in action. Hell, I can barely look at it and NOT ignite my GAS :(
If it sounds half as good as it looks, I'd be tempted to put my kindey on craigslist.

I'm just convincing myself to do the sensible thing and look for a better bang for the buck. $349 is a lot of dough mang. Especially for someone who years ago traded in his band for a family and a carreer and an endless stream of bills

Yeah, I don't think it's a delay pedal for everyone. For me, it has the perfect functionality, with dark, sexy repeats, momentary oscillation, and switchable infinite repeats. It's the exact things I want in a delay, nothing more, nothing less. But if you're into modulation, clear repeats, tap tempo etc. (and a lot of people are), then I get that the AD4096 would look a bit basic.

Apart from the lack of tap tempo, that sounds exactly like my kinda delay too actually. I'm not into modulation on delay peds either, nice murky repeats don't need any cheesy faux chorus effect imo...:idk:

Those dark sexy repeats...What would you compare em to? I used to have a DM-3 for a while, I tried a carbon copy in a store...Other than that I don't have much experience w/ analog delays except for my ES-2. Oh yeah, used to have a Malekko 616 too for a day or two (didn't get along with the b/t switch).
