Yep, it counts. Store credit cards are usually worse than "standard" cards in terms of interest. But paying it off each month is a good way to go.

Oh yes, the interest is stupid high. Something like 29.1%. :wha?:

I've been able to pay off my card in full every month, but I do have student loans I'm paying off.

Credit card companies don't have any business giving lines of credit to kids. That's what I was in college... a big kid.

The education system really needs to teach good money management skills, too. I learned a lot from my parents, but I didn't really want to listen until it was too late. I wish I had heard about good financial practices from more than one place, rather than the negative reinforcement I had to learn about the hard way.

HA! Very true, I still hold this ideal in my mind.... Only now it's "if the world ends and I've paid it off then what was the point of that?!?!?"

Suppose if we all knew WHEN we were leaving this earth we'd all be a world of bucketlist filling daredevil debt riddled freaks...

Right now, the only debt I have is my Sutdent loan, and I'm rarely earning enough for me to be paying it back for any great length of time.

I also made a decision during my final year to not get a credit card if I can avoid it. I have a basic "Chip & pin" debit card, which I also use to pay for shit (although I usually tend to pay in cash anyway if I'm in a shop in person), which suits me fine. I don't wanna be taking on any debt. Maybe I'm living in cloud cuckoo land, but damn it, I don't want to be facing real life yet.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.

my beef with them is how they've changed my limits on the cuff...
i like calculating my own credit rating and it causes me grief when they reduce my limit without notice. damn credit crunch.

I carry under a 1000 debt at all times, and this is total. I can pay it off anytime I choose. Everything I have is paid off except for the house which I don't count as debt. Car and student loans are paid in full. Not bad for a guy in his late 20's.

Learning how to handle your cash, is a struggle we all face but it gets better.

Listening to my farther and others who put themselves in bad situations and got out of it has saved me a LOT of grief in my life. Of course I have made stupid decisions but we pick back up and move on.

Clark has been a great help to myself and has taught me a lot of good things, as I get older it gets easier to fight off the urge to spend cash on shit I don't need and save my money. My goal is to buy my toys only twice a year that way I can get bigger presents instead of a bunch of small ones that rack up to a lot of dough.

Its getting there.

i was raised by my parents to fear any sort of borrowing so i didnt get a card until i was just offered one.
i've always tried to stick to 18 month no interest deals and only get whatever else i wanted the old fashioned way:
drooling over a piece of gear forever and saving up for it.
sometimes its good to wait anyway- i bought my macbook on credit and the newer cooler version came out 2 months later.

I have no credit cards, and probably (certainly) wouldn't even qualify for one if I tried to get it :thumb:

Gonna have lots of awesome student loan debt in like 3 months though :erm:

I have surprised myself and I have almost put a complete freeze on my spending for almost everything. I am enjoying the things I have at home a lot and I find myself playing more and using what I have to it maximum potential.

This makes max happy. Max is a happy boy. :)

The last thing I need is a rig. I had a good one but I sold it like a fool matter of fact I have had 3 in my life and should have never sold any of them. With that lesson learned I have my eyes on a few pieces of gear which does include an AD200 (a 2,000+ dollar head)

I am thinking about continuing this life style and save/work my ass off to buy it but I don't know if it is what I truly want (yes I have played it and yes it sounds freaking amazing) It is in my top 3 heads.

Choices, choices.
