Many ppl and companies make a lot of money on shipping... this could be part of the reason. It also depends on their method of shipping, ie: Just getting a tracking number can sometimes add as much as $15-$20 on a shipment. Another example: Without tracking, you can send something to Australia in two weeks from Toronto for somthing like $25 or in two months for something like $9.
I use this last example, cuz I just sent my Sonic Alienator to Paul from Frostwave for repair... incidentally, if any of you own or are considering buying anything from Frostwave, I highly recommend these guys. I told them my issue, they asked me to send them the pedal and are repairing it for free and are paying the return shipping. WHO DOES THAT?!?? Frostwave does.
Also, fuck ProGuitarShop.

That's how much it costs to ship to Canada, dude. Using as small a box as I can, shipping one pedal to Canada DOES cost 25-30 bucks.
Unless you're saying that you think they should eat shipping costs to do int'l business.

I'm not a PGS fanboy or anything, but they do the best demos, period, so they help me there. I always buy used, so I have no stake in this one.
But I can guarantee you that they're not making any money on shipping. $30 is perfectly reasonable to ship int'l by any reasonable shipping method. There's NO WAY I would EVER send a pedal that I just sold without tracking info. Because you're just asking for people to screw you out of a pedal AND the money by claiming it never arrived.
Eh..decided I'd chime in on this issue. I really like the PGS demos, I'll give them that..consistently great there. I'm just annoyed that they only accept PayPal and credit card.. this fact has shut me out of a few things I might have bought otherwise.. Oh well.. Since I wasn't able to buy from them..it's given me more time to think, and now I'm looking into a little something from Tone Factor..

Agreed about the demos. They are pretty rad and helpful.
First of all, I feel bad for you guys south of us because apparently your gov't is ripping you off. I recently sent a pedal to 7#9 with tracking info and it only cost me $17. To Singapore, it cost $19 and I can ship to Australia from Canada for cheaper than you can ship to me.
Secondly, about the tracking thing: I very rarely pay for tracking. I think I've only done so three or four times... I've never - not even once - had a problem.

First - yes, our government are corrupt fucks who rape us daily like it's a sport
Second - If shipping pedals were my business, I wouldn't risk it. I've seen enough deals go bad on HCFX, TGP, TB, that I know that people (ILF definitely excluded) absolutely WILL fuck you if they have a way to get away with it.

Tone Factor only charge $7. Everywhere is different I guess.

They might have more than one guy answering emails and comments on youtube. If you go to the youtube videos, you sometimes can see the replies to comments from ProGuitarShop and you think its some 25 year old with a vendetta against the world because his music career has failed, so he tries to enlarge his internet penis with his hip and sarcastic language
Other than that, I have bought from them many times and not a problem
