BLUES BROTHERS.
Reason: Cab Calloway.
Hopefully I don't need to expand to much on this one

Wild Zero. Why? It's about a Japanese garage punk band (Guitar Wolf) stopping an army of zombies and UFOs from taking over the world. Let me sum it up for you with: "katana SG". That's all you need to know.
Bass Wolf is one of my musical heroes.
Here, have my favorite scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEtvkH56UcU

O Lucky Man! -Incredibly catchy musical-style soundtrack by Alan Price, scenes with the band include a full Orange/Matamp amplification setup. A perfect movie for half-watching while soldering PCBs.
The Dreamers -Great soundtrack with Hendrix, Janis, the Dead used tastefully as a backdrop for circa '68 French armchair revolutionaries doing what they do best.

Blues Brothers wins, for sure. It's the kind of movie that feels good in your soul.
But more recently, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, I thought did a fantastic job, being comic book/video game influenced, and treating music like a great backbone of comradery and badassery

Sound tracks:
Any thing by Quentin Tarantino
St. Michael, sound track by Metal Chicks.
Band movies;
Rock Star: hey it has Zack Wilde and Jason Bonham.
Almost Famous: band drama and schlock.
Other:
Six-String Samurai: post apocalyptic B movie but lots of fun.

i love the sound of Eraserhead. to me all the background noises are a character of the film. the hiss of the radiator, the puppy dogs sucking their mom's teet, the baby? crying, the pulsing, throbbing stuffs going on all throughout the film. i love it.

I thought Gummo had a great soundtrack. It was great to hear Sleep & Eyehategod in a film.
I know The Doors aren't metal, but Apocalypse Now used "The End" so well in the opening explosion scene.
