Any comic book fans?

Post by nbabmf »

What do you like to read? I'm mostly a bargain box hunter. At SDCC this year, I cleaned house on the last day with over 50 books jammed into my backpack... and I didn't spend more than $5. I've been trolling Craigslist lately and usually score for about 20-50 cents an issue.

I'm currently reading:
Guardians Of The Galaxy (90's)
Daredevil (70's from Frank Miller on... just finished a trade with the first 25 issues from the 60's and it was painfully cheesy)
X-Factor (80's)

I love the smell of solder in the morning.

I had a graphic novel/compilation of all the Guardians Of The Galaxy comics. That was alright. I didn't like the fact that it was totally divorced from the present day Marvel Universe, but I think that was the point.

I read a lot of comics when I was younger, but haven't for a very long time. I've read most of Y: The Last Man (need to finish that), and I was just looking at some stuff on The Thanos Imperative, the current Marvel space war.

Been a long while since I picked up a comic book.

I was big into McFarlane-era Spider Man, Spawn (of course), The Maxx, Storm Watch, Supreme, and all the rest of the Image label. I also was into old Marvel titles. I once owned Doctor Strange #3 and #5.

I also loved the Infinity Gauntlet series, as well as Infinity War.

I'm just a hair to young to have really gotten into the whole Weapon-X thing.

I was a serious Marvel geek as a kid, but then I lapsed. A few years back, a friend got me into the Hellboy collections, which lead to an obsession with the BPRD... I'm still keeping up with them, as well as the various spinoffs. I'm about halfway through Y: The Last Man, and am really enjoying it.

I was kinda into 100 Bullets, but lost the plot after a while. I liked the concept behind Global Frequency, but it never really gelled as a whole for me. I've got a couple of the collected Transmetropolitans, but haven't really been actively picking them up for a while.

I used to read alot of Image/Vertigo stuff. Girls, DMZ, Y: TLM, The Walking Dead, Preacher, 100 Bullets, Fell...
I don't buy comics as much as I would like to, anymore.

Luckily, this is debuting on Halloween:

It's not the Preacher miniseries we were promised a few years back but providing they don't fuck with the story too much, it should be good.
