Hello and I just re-checked (with a bass): same thing with mine, POST is fine, but PRE clip doesn't do much, according to my ears.gila_crisis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:10 amI have a question: does on your clone the pre and post clip knobs work well? On mine the Pre Clip knob does barely nothing (and I double checked all components and soldering joints, and everything is fine). Post Clip acts as it should.

I did some further tests, and PRE does also something, but it is very noticeable when you feed the Sooperfuzz with a loud or distorted signal, then it starts to make sense when you turn the knobfuzzonaut wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 11:34 amHello and I just re-checked (with a bass): same thing with mine, POST is fine, but PRE clip doesn't do much, according to my ears.gila_crisis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:10 amI have a question: does on your clone the pre and post clip knobs work well? Ah, I see, that knob is good for dirty stacking ....gila_crisis wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 4:11 pmI did some further tests, and PRE does also something, but it is very noticeable when you feed the Sooperfuzz with a loud or distorted signal, then it starts to make sense when you turn the knobfuzzonaut wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 11:34 amHello and I just re-checked (with a bass): same thing with mine, POST is fine, but PRE clip doesn't do much, according to my ears.gila_crisis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:10 amI have a question: does on your clone the pre and post clip knobs work well? I got some boards from MAE lately (YES and NO), so will soon put soon together my "pimped" YES clone! Anybody else got some these boards from MAE?

Re: Let's see your finished DIY projects!
This is my "Perhaps?!" fuzz: built using MAE Business Card PCB, it's basically my own mix of Yes & No fuzz pedals.
Controls (left to right, top to bottom): Volume, Tone, Yes' More, Octave, NO's Thud.
Switches (left to right): 386 low-high gain, Q1 PNP/NPN switch, 3 position Yes' Splat (1nF, off, 10nF)
Stil trying out some transistor, but it's a messy, funny fuzz!

Re: Let's see your finished DIY projects!
Fresh from the workbench a pair of Infanem clones: blue Driving Notion and bare aluminium 141G.
141G: straight forward build. I went for the G version, but I did a tweak as I installed 4.7uF NP caps instead of the 10uF, as I felt the sound was a tiny bit too boomy/bassy (but in a good way), and played a bit around with the transistors to get a different texture than the stock 2N2222.
Driving Notion: I did some tweaks in the High part of the circuit: I used sockets for R30 and ended with an additional 2n2 cap in this slot, as it adds a nice extra grit to the distortion. I socketed also C12, as I found a pair of schematics with different values for this cap and the stock 1nF was a bit too much glassy/high-piercing for my taste. I ended with a 47nF, but already 10nF sounds way better than then 1nF, IMHO.
As usual: big kudos to Deadend FX for the stellar PCBs!

I rehoused a ggg orange squeezer kit I put together 16ish years ago… not showing a guts shot.. I barely got it all in
the pedal was originally the normal Mxr layout… the enclosure is recycled from another old project that I never really liked… only mod to the design was I changed the input cap for a larger one so it works better on bass.. I painted it with orange safety paint

Re: Let's see your finished DIY projects!
Put together another stellar PCB by Deadend Fx: this time the Zilla, aka the Lastgasp Green Monster clone.
I did used to own an orginal at some point (of which I took the detailed pictures that Deadend used to trace the pedal!), then Deadend sent me a pcb as a thank you for the pictures, I built the clone (which is spot on as the original). So I sold the original, and kept only the clone, which... I sold too at some point..
Lately I was craving again for the rotten tones the Zilla/GreenMonster can generate (also to compensate a GAS I was having for the Mattoverse AirTrash), so I ordered a new pcb and built it again. On this one I did few tweaks to have a bit more disgusting range available:
C4 120n
R7 680k
R3 7M (4M7+2M2)
R5 15k
D1& D2 2x 1N4148 on both sides
Sens1 & Volume 100k

I just built this one yesterday and was surprised at the sounds that came out of it. I built it just out of curiosity and was surprised by it... In a good way.gila_crisis wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 7:24 am Put together another stellar PCB by Deadend Fx: this time the Zilla, aka the Lastgasp Green Monster clone.
Next time I build it I'll have to try your mods!

Something I built just for me
The fuzz, octave and clean signal of the EHX MicroSynth, running into a nice filter that I borrowed from another project (meaning, its not the filter from the MS itself, but does the trick I wanted it to).
