This is what it's like to go to a show in Nashville. Except most of the time they aren't hipsters. Just wanna-be, bigshot songwriters who just stand at the bar, or in the back of the crowd, and think about how much better they could do it, and are too afraid to get into the music because that might mean that the guy on stage might gain more recognition and get signed before they do. Living in a city that centered around the music industry can be lame. The music scene here is irony at its greatest.

The sickening part is that I've seen both.

One played to cool, like they were real glasses. Some people didn't notice the purple glasses with the lenses taken out. Others just looked at him like this:

The other was continually lifting them to do anything. Reading the menu, deciphering between the 1's and 5's in his wallet to pay for whatever the hell drink he ordered, to pick up a sugar packet, to check his iPod, etc. I watched him stumble around the coffee shop for a good ten minutes like this.
