I actually have these on ATM. Had to check. I find this and the 11 set pretty interchangeable. I only buy singles any more, and I would happily mix these gauges without any problems. I guess I gravitated towards the 12 set because I often drop down to C, and 12 works fine all the way from F to C, whereas 11 is a tiny bit wonky playing in C or C♯.

Woah. Those are really thin 2-5 strings compared to what I'm used to. Not a fan of nickel on electric myself. Use it on acoustic though.

Have you tried steels? preferably stainable. That's my favourite kind of flats. Atleast on bass

I've used steels on a bass. I think stainless, though I don't remember. Never tried it on guitar. Never even seen it on guitar, actually. I would guess that chromes are softer-feeling and darker-sounding?, which I quite like.

I dont know if they exist on guitar, i just assumed. Maybe rotosound? You gotta try regular steel ones if you can find it, they are a little bit harsher. I like them mostly cause I saw this svt2 mogwai interview and their bass player had the original rusty strings on his fender and thought it was cool. Not really a Mogwai listener but I'm just a poser lol

Pretty sure chromes are stainless.. sadly the cores are not... I’ve had bass strings break due to the core rusting before...

I use steel strings with a wound G on guitar! But I also use thicker strings than most people seem to prefer... 13-17-26w-36-46-56. I've been using the D'Addario "Pro Steels". I like an extremely bright, defined tone, as well as the lower resistance to my fingers that steel offers over nickel, so they're the perfect strings for me. I can't get behind flat wound strings.

Flat wounds are tools of the devil.

And not the good devil who makes heavy metal and black coloured candles and amplifiers, the bad devil who fucks your shit up.

I am so fucking pissed off with the 24p string I mounted to tune lower. Worst fucking gauge in history.
It feels like a classical guitar nylon string BUT WORSE.
I have been playing it anyway cause I don't have time to go grab a 24w until next weekend.

Rotosound Monel flats are THE SHIT. The Harris sig set is great for a thicker set/lower tuning. I use the Jazz 77 set (45-105) and LOVE em.
