Help Me Design A Custom Finish!!!
So I'm gonna get a Cosmichorus for myself as a birthday present in October.
I want it custom. I'm enlisting your help.
From Master Ryan:
"For quite awhile now we only do custom finishes that are provided for Tanya. The customer has to give her a file with the images they want in a format that she can work with, she's not doing anything from scratch any more, it's just too time consuming and has made us get too far behind.
So if you can provide her with vector images or simple outline images that she'll be able to use with her plotter software then she'll be able to do something custom"
I like Escher and Escher-esque geometry and shit.
I enjoy some animes (FLCL, Cowboy Bebop).
I'm also a sucker for certain Nintendo/Sega characters. :ahem: (Kirby, Sonic, Maxwell of Scribblenauts)
I do NOT like teh sparkuhlz.

Re: Help Me Design A Custom Finish!!!
I don't have anything to do today. So, I might as well give it a try.
What sort of file format would be best? Would you need the individual elements (Kirby, a...tree, whatever) as different files?

ALSO, could she use Photoshop project files? Would .PNG files be acceptable?
Also also, it is quite tedious to draw one pixel at a time.
Also also also, my hand hurts a lot.
Also also also also, I hope the pixels aren't too intricate to cut out of vinyl.

Re: Help Me Design A Custom Finish!!!
This is what I've got.
Jesus, that took forever. I had to draw everything in tiny pixels from reference (tiny screen shots, sprite sheets, etc.). One by one. I'm pretty sure I now have carpal tunnel. I don't know if it is very good, but if it isn't maybe someone could use it as a template to make epicness. But, I hope it is acceptable. I used the Game Boy games as a reference because I thought it looked the best. It might look better in black/white/gray. I don't know.
I hope the dimensions are correct. I took them from the Dr. Scientist Website.
Here it is with and without a Cosmichorus overlay to show where the knobs, switches and labels would go. I also think that some of those stars would look good on the Kirbychorus.
Here are the project files in PNG and PSD format - HEREHEREHEREHEREHEREHEREHEREHERE
The images in the zip are much bigger. I can make them into other formats if necessary.

I think this one is more than enough for Tanya, actually :D I linked Ryan to this thread, so he can see what you've done.
If anything, I'd say zoom in a bit, make everything bigger just a smidge. Pixelated sprites are fine by me!

Sweet. I was busy looking for new sprite sheets!
Everything is it's own layer, so everything has it's own file and it wouldn't be a problem to make things bigger.

Re: Help Me Design A Custom Finish!!!
I found a few, but they are all SO small. It was sort of easy interpreting the monochrome Kirby because he is so simple. It would take me forever to make a colored one. I took me nearly four hours to make that one!
Plus, I'm not a particularly visually talented person. But I could definitely work on it, if you would like.

Cool. I hope it is vinyl-doable and agreeable to all involved.
