I figured since people couldn't handle the blindingly bright LEDs that scream METAL, the world deserved a tame version of the pedal with tame LEDs. Perfect for all your lawyer blues and classic rock riff needs.goroth wrote:One is good for metal, and the other is blues lawyer garbage.Dandolin wrote:gotcha

We did it, we made it *just* under the wire to be included in NAMM announcements. Best sign up for the El Diablo email if you want a chance at the first 50. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKbyoIeMP7L/

Re: Finally getting around to HEQing again
You're all awesome.
BTW, the first run we did of these sold out, but we're doing another run that should be ready by April. You can pre-order here if you missed out: http://www.eldiabloamps.com/heq1-2/
On a sentimental note, this pedal probably wouldn't have happened without ILF. I was lurking here for a while, and reading about the cool stuff you were all into inspired me to try something new out. So, I built a super-weird fuzz prototype. Then JonnyAngle invited me to the MN ILF get together in 2017 (back when we are all able to get into a room together and hang out like human beings living a real life, REMEMBER THAT?), and I brought it along for those of you that were there to play with. I was kinda worried that you were all going to tear it apart and tell me how lame it was, but you DIDN'T. Instead, in a a sort-of-aloof cool-guy way, you said something like, "Yeah...that's kinda cool." Which I knew in my heart actually meant "Fuck yeah, this is my new favorite thing in the world." So I kept going with the design, and eventually released the HEQ1. We only made 40 because I thought it would be too weird for primetime. They were gone faster than I could promote them. Then I kept getting bugged (in a nice way) to make more, and so I finally did that too. There you have it, the story of connection between a guy and an internet forum that resulted in some guitar pedals. ~FIN~

Looks fantastic.
The LEDs on HEQ The First do look like they are bright enough to blast through human flesh:

Forums are so archaic nowadays, and I'm sure that if you took away the bots the number of active users here is nowhere near what it was in the forum's heyday. But there is a real passion for noise and gear here, and it's nice to see that someone else picked up on that and got something out of it.

Re: Finally getting around to HEQing again
I am glad to see that there are more of these on the horizon. Even though I have one of the originals, I'm tempted to pick up one of the new ones. Besides, I changed the current limiting resistors for the LEDs in my original, so it's probably worthless now.
