Re: The Coffee Thread
I have a mug and a half of black drip at home/in transit in the mornings and I typically re-up with a giant iced americano at some point in the afternoons.

Starbucks is across the street from my work, so days I open I will go straight there to start the day off "right." Get the juice flowing, while I get the store ready. A couple hours later the rest of the crew shows up and I go outside to burn a bowl. The next several hours go by like a breeze. Smoke+Coffee is a fantastic mix
Coffee and a bowl=brain breakfastand then,a Camel light to round it out.

Re: The Coffee Thread
Hellz yeah! I've been hooked since 14, with no end in sight. I'm not a coffee snob, but I do grind my own beans... but usually whatever they've got whole-bean at the grocery store does the trick.
For the last month I've been on-site at a client's where they have one of those Keurig machines, so I've been having an extra cup or two throughout the day as well...

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

I am a coffee fiend. In fact, I'm drinking some right now!

My only vice!
We have a local roaster (although they're moving) that does the whole fair trade, shade grown, organic, whole wheat, high fibre, low cholesterol, true bypass beans from all over the world. Awesome.
Don't put sugar and creamo in that stuff. Black, French press, I go about 3 or 4 pots a day, with macchinetta espressos in between.

French Press FTW! I finally learned to appreciate black coffee in college, and I prefer it strong. I dig me some espresso as well. I'm currently trying to figure out how to make good tasting espresso with a stovetop espresso maker. On the rare occasion when I do visit starbucks as a guilty pleasure, I go for the double shot, usually iced.

Love it. Though, I love the whole spectrum of coffee, from really good dark, dark, black, death coffee, to the cheap sugary shit that you can buy at Racetrack. I actually like mixing all the flavors in one cup.

You have to compress the grounds in there just right -- neither too loose not too hard, and put it over a med-low heat, don't crank the heat or it'll just burn and taste like shit.ifeellikeatourist wrote:I'm currently trying to figure out how to make good tasting espresso with a stovetop espresso maker. .

I like my coffee like I like my men. Strong and black.
Brand-wise, I love Tim Hortons but I only get the pleasure whenever my Canadian friend gets some from his family back home.
Though, I do so enjoy a vanilla latte every now and again.

Other then espresso my fave coffee making style thing is a coffee siphon. I use espresso grind so it is supper strong.
My fave brands are Olympia Coffee Roasting Co [they're friend and they do a great job!] and for "store bought", Medaglia D'oro.
